The story I want to introduce today is about a group of Japanese soldiers who fled, and what is infuriating is that they not only did not surrender, but also took away more than 10,000 women on the mainland, and the crime was extremely shameful.
In 1945, Japan surrendered, and there was a Japanese army in the northeast of the mainland, subordinate to the Kwantung Army, about 20,000 people, entrenched in it and controlling the local people.
At this time, the mainland's anti-Japanese contingent had gained the upper hand for a long time, and the army led by the Communist Party, in particular, huddled with the people and helped each other.
Against such a background, many Japanese troops have reached the stage of desperation, and this group of Kwantung troops is the same, there are two roads in front of them, either they will fight stubbornly on their backs, or they will immediately slip away with oil on the soles of their feet, and there is no doubt that they chose the latter.
But even if they escaped, it was difficult to leave China safely to save their lives, so they took all the women under their control and took them hostage. Why bring only women? There are two main reasons, the first is that women are weak and easier to control; The second is that these Japanese like women and want to do evil things, which can be said to be quite common at that time, and has also brought a lot of harm to the majority of women on the mainland.
So, 20,000 Kwantung troops and 10,000 Chinese women gathered into a mighty team and marched towards Changbai Mountain.
Soon after they left, the locals spread the news, and the communists learned about it, so they specially sent people into the mountains to chase them, rescue the captured women, and completely annihilate the Japanese invaders.
But heaven forbid, our party's army searched for a long time and did not find it in Changbai Mountain, until after the founding of the People's Republic of China, the mainland did not give up searching, because after all, this is 30,000 people, even if all of them die in the mountains, at least the bones can be found, how can it not disappear out of thin air. But 77 years have passed, these 30,000 people have still not been found, they seem to have evaporated in the world, and suddenly disappeared into the Changbai Mountains.
Where the hell did they go? In fact, it is not without clues.
Possible causes
After this matter was known by many people, whether it was our party soldiers, leaders, or ordinary people, they were thinking about a question: Where are these people?
So gradually four statements were produced, and the last one was very reliable.
The first one, the theory of freezing to death. Japan surrendered in August, and the Kwantung Army fled only in September.
During this period, the temperature in the central and southern parts of the continent may still be very high, but in the northeast region, it can already be called "autumn high and refreshing", especially when the phenomenon of global warming was not so serious, and this cooling was relatively pure.
According to reasoning, if these 30,000 people are really heading towards Changbai Mountain, they must not be too ostentatious along the road, so on this road, they not only have to bypass the city and countryside, but also cannot advance too fast, so the time they arrive at Changbai Mountain is likely to be late autumn.
Speaking of this, we have to mention the climatic conditions of Changbai Mountain. Because of the influence of the monsoon and the special terrain, Changbai Mountain has always been very cold, long winters and short summers, only 10 days a year without frost, the average annual temperature is about minus 10 °C, and when it is coldest time, the temperature will reach the terrifying minus 40 °C.
At this temperature, not to mention spending the winter in Changbai Mountain, even the temperature of nearly minus 10 degrees in late autumn and early winter is not easily tolerable.
So in this case, there is an inference that these people froze to death in Changbai Mountain.
But here is a question, although Changbai Mountain is cold, there is not much snow, where are the bones of 30,000 people?
The second corollary, the theory of being eaten. In addition to agreeing with the cold of Changbai Mountain, this inference also believes that a large number of wild beasts in Changbai Mountain took their lives. Although this can explain the absence of bones, it is still not rigorous, after all, this is 30,000 people, and most of them are Japanese soldiers with live ammunition, even if the bullets run out in the process of self-defense, at least the corpses of the animals who have been shot must be visible.
Thus, a third corollary emerged, which suggested that the Kwantung Army might have successfully crossed the Changbai Mountains with women and returned to Japan through Korea.
But this statement can not be self-explanatory, the cold weather in Changbai Mountain is one thing, so many people also need a lot of materials in the process of moving, and North Korea has no sighting records, and the local people cannot let the Japanese army pass in full shadows like this, even through North Korea, there are still waterways next, it is very difficult to achieve.
The last one is not entirely an inference, because there is some evidence for it.
It is said that these 30,000 people have actually been in Changbai Mountain all the time, where there were bases built by the Japanese, as well as winter supplies and some guns and ammunition.

After the news spread on the mainland that 20,000 Kwantung troops had trapped 10,000 Chinese women to hide in the Changbai Mountains, our party specially sent people to look for them, and the Kuomintang learned of this matter not long after.

Why do you have to go to the Japanese army?

At first, the Kuomintang troops did not have any clues, but they thought that if there were troops in Changbai Mountain, they would definitely not be doing well in such cold weather, and maybe they would also think that others could find them. Therefore, people were specially sent to monitor the radio signals of the Japanese army around Changbai Mountain.
This hearing was really found, and the two sides then began to contact each other head-on.
A Japanese commander named Suzuki told the Kuomintang troops that he and his men were subordinate to Unit 290 of the Japanese Kwantung Army, with a total of 2,000 men and 1,000 Chinese in hand.
No, how can this be ninety percent less alive? In fact, they were not the previous 20,000 troops, that is, in Changbai Mountain, there were more than one wave of Japanese troops.
After contacting the Japanese, an officer of the Kuomintang named Zheng Dongguo hurriedly informed Du Yuming of the incident, and Du Yuming told Chiang Kai-shek again, and Chiang Kai-shek thought it was very interesting after hearing this, so he sent special personnel to bring these Japanese soldiers into his ranks.
At the end of November, a Kuomintang squad appeared in the Changbai Mountains, looking for Japanese Unit 290 according to the route, and before they could get to the place, they found a squad of 800 men.
As soon as the two sides communicated, they learned that they belonged to Unit 37802 of the Kwantung Army, which was responsible for guarding and protecting 20,000 Japanese troops and 10,000 Chinese women in the back base.
Chiang Kai-shek's people were overjoyed when they heard this, and they really had nowhere to find their iron shoes, so they hurriedly threw out the olive branch, which was also the purpose of their deep penetration into the Changbai Mountain. Unexpectedly, the Japanese army actually agreed to be particularly cheerful, but demanded that the Kuomintang must meet four requirements.
- sending these Chinese women to Japan;
- Immediate payment of 300,000 yuan;
- provision of medicines and food;
- Tell Japan the news of the survival of the army.
Soon, he reported the matter to Chiang Kai-shek, and immediately agreed. Therefore, planes were specially sent to spread leaflets in Changbai Mountain, mainly to "appease" these Japanese soldiers, meaning: Don't be afraid, we will cooperate.
But just after Chiang Kai-shek sent people into Changbai Mountain, something suddenly appeared, and this army disappeared! It was as if the world had evaporated and disappeared completely. Later, after the liberation of the northeast, the Kuomintang "danced with wolves" was no longer resolved.
