【Narrator】

Kim Heung-chen, the eldest daughter of King Kong-hee

On May 28, the reporter contacted Jin Xiangchen, the eldest daughter of King Kong Hee.

"My father, who was dying, had been in a coma. Although he was unable to open his eyes, in the haze, my father would subconsciously go forward to the people who came to visit, perform a 'best effort' military salute, and sometimes hang down when his arm was halfway up... The faith of the soldier had penetrated deep into his marrow. Jin Xiangchen described this picture for us.

"At 7:00 a.m. on February 16, my father suddenly woke up and made a 'hug' gesture to me with difficulty. I rushed up to hug him and tapped him on the back three times. Soon, My father continued to close his eyes, and after a few hours, he left me completely..."

Young people joined the army to serve the motherland

In 1933, my father was born in North Korea, and at the age of 4, he moved with his family to Hailin County, Mudanjiang. In middle school, he was hungry for knowledge and dreamed of going to college. However, when he was 17 years old, the Korean War broke out, and the war burned to the banks of the Yalu River, and he resolutely signed up for the army. ”

"However, the road to military service is not smooth. Although the school approved, the recruiting leaders thought he was too young and short to be a soldier and advised him to go back to school. My father once recalled: "At that time, I didn't know where the energy came from, I cried loudly, and the organization mobilized me to go home every day, but I just wouldn't, that is, I wanted to join the army and enter the DPRK and defend the country." After several pleadings, he finally expected the approval order he had dreamed of. Many years later, whenever I recall this paragraph, my father would proudly say: "After 3 days in Shenyang, I finally got the approval of my superiors, and I became a liaison officer of the management section of the logistics department of the 63rd Army of the Chinese Volunteer Army as I wished." ’”

Speaking of this, a smile appeared on Jin Xiangchen's face. In his later years, when his father talked about the past, he would always tell his children and grandchildren about this important starting point of his revolutionary career.

In this way, my father became a liaison officer (that is, a translator) and drove from Shenyang to Dandong. On the third day of being approved to enter the DPRK, the warriors wearing large red flowers on their chests stood on the makeshift pontoon bridge (the Yalu River Bridge had been blown up by the enemy army) and sang their youth song passionately: 'Xiong Zhao Zhao, angry, across the Yalu River, to protect peace, to defend the motherland, is to protect the hometown... 'Among the singing warriors was my father, King Kong Hee. ”

"Battlefield Translation" under Fire

At the end of January 1951, my father entered Korea with the troops and began the years of real guns and blood. My father said that the villages and towns he passed along the way had become a sea of fire after being bombed by US planes. In the smoke of war, houses and campuses turned into rubble and scorched earth; Hordes of people carried their children on their backs, carried their burdens, and left their homes, rushing in the direction of the Yalu River in fear. ”

At that time, enemy planes were constantly bombing and strafing, watching the people displaced, fathers and comrades-in-arms were heartbroken, and saving people became their mission anytime and anywhere. Father said that as soon as he encountered this situation, the strength of the whole body did not know where it came from, and he directly rushed up, and any danger and sacrifice had long been forgotten. When encountering a burning house, even if the beams are about to collapse, everyone is not afraid, and their heads do not rush back into the ground. ”

"At that time, the volunteer army was rushing every day, and the soldiers were carrying forty or fifty pounds. It is not so much a march as a running, and the hardship is not necessary to say, and it will be bombarded by enemy aircraft at any time. After a period of time, the volunteers gradually discovered that the bombing of American aircraft was often carpet bombing, forming an all-round bombing. ”

"In a critical moment, the volunteers simply followed the shells, the enemy aircraft hovering overhead, and as long as it did not dive, it continued to march, jumping from one crater to another that had just exploded. Although his father was the youngest, he followed the team closely. Because he was proficient in Korean, he took on more work. Everywhere he went, he had to learn about the local enemy situation, find a mass guide, find a house for the troops to rest, and in this way, in the midst of the flying artillery fire, he added the title of 'battlefield translator'. ”

Participate in battles without fear of sacrifice

"During the Battle of Tieyuan, enemy aircraft carried out carpet bombing, and a house was blown to pieces. From a house that was about to collapse, the cries of a boy were heard. Hearing the crying, the father, who was not far away, did not hesitate, rushed into the room, rescued an injured old lady and a boy who was only six or seven years old, and moved them to safety. ”

"During the battle, the river bridge was blown up by the Us army, and the ammunition could not be transported to the front line. The enemy army tried to use this trick to completely block the transport line and cut off the supply of military supplies for the volunteer army. In order to break the enemy's blockade and replenish the ammunition in time, my father began to mobilize the Korean people to repair the bridge overnight under artillery fire. ”

My father recalled the scene at that time, saying that the bright and dangling flares stained the earth, trees, riverbanks and people white, and the roar of the planes, the strafing of the machine guns, the explosion of bombs and the howling wind sounded in the ears, deafening and deafening. The shells fell in the river, and the splashing waves were as high as a foot. Many North Korean women tied their children to their backs and joined the volunteers in transporting stones to build bridges. In this rain of bullets and bullets, the bridge was quickly repaired, and truckloads of military supplies were delivered to the front line on time, laying the foundation for the final victory of the battle. ”

Meritorious service in accomplishing tasks

"Later in the fifth campaign, my father received an urgent task: to deliver a letter to the logistics department and replenish ammunition for the front-line troops."

"The delivery distance is more than a hundred miles, and it takes a whole day to walk. In order to get the letter in time, the father went to the place where the captives had gathered, found two young English men, and asked them to help drive. It was raining heavily, the speed was fast, there were ditches on both sides of the road, and the car fell into the ditch. The two men were so frightened that they knelt down and begged for forgiveness. Because of the language barrier, my father took a lot of effort to calm them down. They took out bottles and asked for water to drink, and the father said, 'Send a letter first, drink water second.' ’”

"Later, my father managed to get water from the people's homes, and the two captives were very moved, and the group finally arrived at their destination before dark, handed over the letter to the logistics department of the 63rd Army, and gloriously completed the task."

In the Korean battlefield, because of his outstanding performance, the higher-level party committee twice awarded Third Class Meritorious Service to King Kong Hee and awarded the Meritorious Military Meritorious Service Medal of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. After the armistice was signed, King Kong-hee was selected to go to Pyongyang to prepare for the construction of the Korean Motherland Victory Memorial in the War of Liberation.

The War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea and defend the homeland, as the most unforgettable period of King Kong Xi's military career, will always be engraved in his heart.

The elderly are enthusiastic about public welfare

On September 22, 1963, Premier Zhou Enlai met with the Dprk delegation, and King KongXi, who was already serving as a captain in the political department of the former Shenyang Military Region, was selected as Premier Zhou as an interpreter and successfully completed his mission.

"My father told the scene before he died, 'When I walked into Premier Zhou's office and stood in front of the prime minister, I was nervous and excited, and my palms were full of sweat, but from the prime minister's eyes looking at me, I saw a kind light, like the warm sun in winter, which made me quickly get rid of the tension and enter the state of work. During the talks with foreign guests, the prime minister paid great attention to mastering the rhythm of speech, was very considerate of me, stopped every time he said two sentences, and made gestures to ask me to translate. ’”

"Mo Dao Sang Yu evening, for xia still full of heaven." In 1989, King Kong Xi retired in Shenyang. Beginning in 1993, Together with 14 veteran comrades-in-arms, Hee established the Volunteer Veterans ReportIng Group and served as the head of the reporting group. Although the heart has been put on 5 stents, he still insists on carrying out patriotic education, carrying forward the spirit of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and always adhering to the "three noes" principle: no car pick-up, no eating, no remuneration.

Since the establishment of the report group, he has walked into more than 300 schools, enterprises and institutions, and made more than 500 reports.

"Father is gone, but in my mind he never seems to have left. In this life, as a daughter of a father, I am blessed! Jin Xiangchen dried his tears and looked determined.

"One of my father's favorite songs before he was alive was "Chinese Volunteer Army Battle Song", and when the interest came, he would always hum a few words. I know that it carries my father's memories of his youth and his memories of the nine deaths of a lifetime of fighting. We respect our father and remember his selfless life infinitely. ”
