First, the origin of hatred
Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Israel, and Palestine have come together over the years. The protagonists, of course, are Iran and Israel. If Israel has a vendetta against Arab countries, everyone can understand it, but Iran is not an Arab country, the Arab countries do not recognize Iran, and Iran does not consider itself an Arab country. Iran calls itself a Persian nation, which is not the same thing as the Arab countries.
After several wars in the Middle East, Arab countries are jealous of Israel. Now iran in the Middle East is left to confront Israel with great fanfare. If Israel and the Arab countries have religious problems and territorial problems, then Iran and Israel do not border each other geographically, where does the enmity between them come from?
Before the Islamic Revolution, Israel and Iran were allies of the United States, and the relationship between the two countries at that stage was quite good, not only did Iran have the military support of the United States, but Israel also transferred missile technology to Iran many times.
The feud between the two countries coincided with the transformation of the United States and Iran from allies to rivals after the Islamic Revolution in Iran. Israel is a staunch ally of the United States, and the United States and Iran are enemies, so Israel is naturally on the side of the United States and has become a hostile country with Iran.
In Israel's view, as long as it is the enemy of the United States, it is its enemy. After the two families turned against each other, Iran began to support the Palestinian Hamas military organization and the Lebanese Allah Party. Because both organizations are close to Israel, they have a geographical position and can directly clash with Israel militarily. The purpose is to contain Israel.
Later, the Syrian civil war broke out, because it was also an industrial Muslim, Iran began to send troops to help the Syrian government fight the civil war, as Iran put military power into Syria. Even if Iran and Israel do not share a border, a military confrontation has actually formed.
Because Syria, Lebanon, and Hamas all have territorial intersections with Israel, which Israel cannot tolerate.
Another point is the Iranian nuclear issue, which is also the most intolerable point for Israel. It is an open secret that Israel had the capability to manufacture nuclear weapons as early as the 1980s with the help of the United States. With the support of the United States, no one dares to do anything to Israel. Israel has become the only country in the Middle East to possess nuclear weapons, and israel cannot tolerate Iran's possession of nuclear weapons. In public, it has threatened that if Iran does build a nuclear weapon, then Israel will unilaterally destroy Iran's nuclear facilities. And Iran is naturally-for-tat: if you really dare to do it, then I will also hit your nuclear facilities.
This is the origin of the contradiction between Israel and Iran.
Second, the little-known story
There is also a little-known history surrounding the creation of a state in Which the United States and Britain fought a game.
As early as the First World War, the Middle East was Britain's traditional sphere of influence, and it was not the turn of the United States to dictate at all. At that time, the British did intend to help the Jewish people establish an independent Jewish state in Palestine. In November 1917, the then British Foreign Secretary, Belfort, issued the famous Belfort Declaration to help the Jewish people establish a state in Palestine.
If Britain had really helped the Jewish people establish an independent state in 1917, the Nazis would not have had such a serious massacre against the Jewish people. U.S. influence in the Middle East is a different story. The map of the Middle East after World War II may be different.
Unfortunately, this is all hypothetical. So why did the Uk come up with this idea in the first place, and why didn't it come to fruition in the end?
For the British government, although the Belfort Declaration was issued, there was no complete set of plans at all, and it was purely casual. For the Jewish people, however, britain's Belfort Declaration was nothing more than a passport to statehood.
Since the end of the First World War, Jews all over the world have begun to migrate to Palestine. By the time World War II broke out in 1939, there were 450,000 Jews in Palestine, or one-third of the population.
During World War II, the Jewish people were subjected to the Nazi Holocaust, and Jews around the world were labeled refugees. At this time, the question of Jewish statehood became a problem that the whole world had to face.
Countries also reflected: If the Jewish people had been allowed to establish an independent state at that time, would the Jewish people still suffer such a serious massacre? So the nations agreed to work together to help the Jewish people build a nation. At this time, on the contrary, the British side began to hesitate. Because almost the entire Middle East was Britain's sphere of influence at that time, if the Jewish nation was allowed to establish a state in the Middle East, it would inevitably lead to contradictions between arab countries and the Jewish nation, and the Middle East would be in chaos. Therefore, the British began to oppose the establishment of the Jewish nation in the Middle East, restricting the transfer of Jewish refugees to the Middle East, and allowing only 10,000 Jewish refugees to enter the Middle East every year.
At this time, the United States stepped forward, and U.S. President Harry S. Truman wrote a letter to British Prime Minister Adley, asking Britain to issue at least 100,000 immigration permits per year to Jewish refugees stranded in Europe. As a result, the British prime minister refused.
Truman then gave his handwritten letters to the British prime minister and Edley's reply to him to the media, making them public, which made Britain quite passive diplomatically.
Britain had to think hard. Initially, the British proposed a plan: to divide palestine into four provinces, two provinces on the side of the Arab countries and the Jewish people, but the cost of statehood should be borne by the United States. It is equivalent to saying that Britain is out of the way and the United States pays for it. Of course, the United States was not willing to pay for it, and Truman was adamantly opposed to this plan. That place was not originally British, so why should I pay for it, and I have to pay for it all. Britain treats its human body in its own way. The publication of the Letter of the United States has also embarrassed the United States.
Since there are millions of Jewish immigrants in the United States, it is related to whether Truman can be re-elected in the future, and finally Truman was forced to make concessions, but the state-building plan cannot listen to the British, the Palestinians will not agree, why should I cut off a place for outsiders?
Britain considered international public opinion on the one hand and reassured the Arab countries on the other. Just when Britain was at a loss, Truman gave Britain an idea, and asked Britain to leave the matter to the United Nations to decide. Once again, the British naively believed in The United States.
Because at that time, Britain's administrative authority over the Middle East was entrusted by the United Nations, called mandated rule, which was considered to be temporary administration. There is nothing wrong with returning management to the United Nations now. When Britain referred the issue to the United Nations, the initiative was completely transferred to the United States.
First, the United States began to transfer Jewish immigrants to Palestine in large numbers. Let the Jewish people quickly form a demographic advantage. In addition, the United States raised the issue at the United Nations General Assembly, and more than two-thirds of the delegates agreed. This made Britain very passive. In desperation, Britain could only agree to the establishment of a State by the Jews in Palestine. But warn the United States that if Israel establishes state there, large-scale conflicts in the Middle East are bound to erupt.
Finally, on October 29, 1947, the General Assembly adopted the Arab-Israeli partition proposal by 33 votes in favour of 13 against ten abstentions.
Just as the United Nations proposal for a partition was being adopted, large-scale demonstrations erupted in Arab countries. Warn the United States that if Jews establish a state in Palestine, then we will declare war on Jews.
On May 14, 1948, Israel declared its statehood, and on May 15, the first Middle East war broke out in full swing.
After several wars in the Middle East, Israel is getting stronger and stronger, but the Arab countries are getting weaker and weaker. The Palestinian-Israeli issue also completed the replacement of world leadership between the two great powers of the United States and Britain.
