On the second day of the European Championship, the Greek men's basketball team in Group C beat Croatia 89-85.
Giannis Adetocombo had 9-of-24 shooting, 27 points, 11 rebounds and six assists on 9-of-11 free throws, and Taylor Dorsey also had 27 points.
In the last 57 seconds of the match, Croatia trailed 82-84. Alphabet first blocked Zubac's low shot, and then dunked to help Greece gain a four-point advantage. Jaylen Smith shot a three-pointer in the final 10 seconds, again a key cover for the alphabet brother, and then hit a three-pointer in the final 4.9 seconds to kill the game.
Croatia started 7-0, but then Greece responded with a 40-14 lead and took a 19-point lead at halftime. Croatia made 6 consecutive Greek irons on 6-of-6 shooting in the third quarter, returning a wave of 15-0 to narrow the point difference.
Croatia's Smith scored 23 points, Bojan Bogdanovic had 19 points, Klunoslaw Simon had 18 points, Zubac had 11 points and Herzonja had 10 points.
