This is the nostalgia for his hometown and the hope for the reunification of the motherland in the writings of the famous contemporary poet Yu Guangzhong, and it is also the voice of countless sons and daughters on both sides of the strait. In the third episode of the second season of China Daily's "Junior Parlor", "More Than Just Missing Across the Straits", generation Z on both sides of the strait gathered in Fujian to talk about the future of the motherland.
During the recording of the program, we met Chen Simo, a Taiwanese female student currently studying at Shanghai Overseas Chinese University, who was reciting "Nostalgia" in the afterglow with Wang Li, a student of Peking University from the mainland, expressing the deep desire of the young generation on both sides of the taiwan strait for the reunification of the motherland.
As a daughter born in Taiwan and raised in Wuhan, Chen Simo told us her growth story and hometown affection in the program.
The two sides of the strait are close to each other, and the Four Seas and China are in love
Recently, there has been a hot topic on social media, that is, many streets in Taiwan Province are named after mainland cities, which has evoked Simmer's memories of Taiwanese streets.
"I think of a news story I once reported about Ximending, which has a street called Wuchang Road. As a girl born in Taiwan and raised in Wuhan, the word Wuchang is very familiar to me. There are 20 streets in Taiwan named after Wuchang or Hankou, spanning 14 counties and cities from north to south and east to west. ”
But in fact, this naming method is not a unilateral "affectionate" of Taiwan Province, Sima told us, "Wuhan also has a lot of streets named after Taiwanese provinces, counties and cities, such as Hsinchu Road, Taipei Road, Kaohsiung Road, Miaoli Road, Yunlin Road and so on." In addition, it is said that taipei has a Hankou Road and a Hankou Road, which shows the deep longing of the mother of the motherland for the children who have been displaced. ”

However, the streets on the map are only symbols after all, and only those who come to the mainland in person will find that these streets that have been walked in Taiwan Province are actually warm cities on the mainland. We all hope that in the near future, the people on both sides of the strait will be able to travel unimpeded and experience the warmth of the other side of the strait.
Tomorrow is born on the sea, and the end of the world is at this time
Since the resumption of cross-strait exchanges in 1987, exchanges between the two sides of the strait have become increasingly close in the cultural, social, and economic fields, and many fruitful results have also been accumulated. Many young people on both sides of the strait rushed to each other to study and work across the strait to contribute to the construction of the motherland.
Chen Simo shared with us the story of his Taiwanese family working and living in the mainland.
"Ten years ago, one of my uncles came to Zhejiang from Taiwan to work on urban landscape planning. In his work, he adds some Taiwanese elements to his designs that, combined with his personal style, make his work stand out. "By adding Taiwanese elements to the design of the coastal avenue, Simmer's uncle helped the people of the mainland to feel the nostalgia of 'the moon is born on the sea, and the end of the world is at this time' in the sound of the waves, and enjoy the romantic scene of the moon and the sea with the Taiwan people on the other side of the strait."
"Twelve years ago, my uncle came to Shanghai to work on semiconductors, and many chips for mobile phones and household appliances were produced in his factory." Like many people from Taiwan who have gone to the mainland to work and live, the Taiwanese family of Simao burns their youth and gives full play to their strengths in the mainland, creating the beauty of a green city and creating a more convenient life for the people through science and technology.
Chen Simo himself, like many Taiwanese students, came to the mainland to study and strive for a happy life. "Our footprints are all over the mainland of the motherland, including Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen and Guangzhou, not to mention Wuhan and Chengdu. We are all the most ordinary people, from Taiwan to the mainland to work, study and live. We have a home and relatives in Taiwan, teachers, colleagues and friends in the mainland. ”
The two sides of the Taiwan Strait have the same language and the same roots. "From one side of the strait to the other, we are acutely aware that our connections are inseparable, whether it is work culture, economics or other fields. We are all sons and daughters of China, descendants of Yan Huang, and a shallow strait cannot separate us. In the past, present and future, we have all clung to the fate of sharing honor and disgrace and shouldered the responsibility of making the Chinese nation stand tall among the nations of the world. ”
Chen Simo said seriously at the end of his speech, "The next time I return to Taiwan, there are two things I must do - walk around my beloved Wuchang Street and eat a delicious bowl of Wuhan hot dry noodles!" ”
No matter where the children on both sides of the strait are, they all enjoy the same round of bright moon. As long as we join hands with one heart and one mind and work together, "one family on both sides of the strait," China's complete reunification and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation will certainly be realized at an early date!
