The just-launched Australian Geography magazine named the best photography of 2022, and as COVID-19 restrictions adjust, nature photographers are once again venturing out across the South Pacific to document spectacular fauna, flora, landscapes and stars. In order, the nine figures are: starlight dinner for gray leaf-nosed bats, giant cuttlefish resting in winter gardens, submarine passages for "paved" whisker sharks, "smiles" of great white sharks, dawn on Tasman glaciers, wheat fields before storms, "dancing" under the stars, blue firefly tunnels, sunset galaxies.
