In 1944, during the Battle of Cassino, a trained Syrian brown bear, smoking a cigarette and carrying a supply box of several hundred kilograms, delivered ammunition and supplies to the Allies on the battlefield.

It was not at all alarmed by the sound of artillery fire and explosions, even calmer than other militaryly trained soldiers. How did this bear enlist in the army?

The story begins in 1942, when Iran opened its borders, and most of the Polish citizens returning from Siberia joined the Polish army to assist the Allies in their battles.

Once, as the Polish army was heading for Palestine, it found a small child carrying a sack next to the road, his clothes dirty, and hunger and exhaustion in his eyes.

The soldiers of these units had already suffered unequal treatment in Siberia, and when they saw the situation of the little boy, they immediately felt pity. He was sent canned to fill his hunger, and the little boy was very grateful.

But suddenly a small brown bear jumped out of the bag, startling the soldiers on the spot. The little boy quickly explained that the bear had been rescued from the cave by himself, and that its mother had been besieged and killed by hunters.

When the Polish soldiers heard about the bear's misery, they decided to take good care of the bear. One of them offered to exchange clothes and food for the bear with the little boy.

Although the little boy knew that he was a little reluctant, when he heard that the soldiers would take good care of it, he finally agreed.

Thus, the little bear began his magical life. Cub entered the company and became the mascot of the company. The soldiers all rushed to spoil it, and the march added a lot of joy to the march.

When the bear is naughty, he will walk upright like a human, taking the initiative to walk behind the Polish soldier line. Sometimes they would rub the soldiers' cars and sit on the front seat of the car for a ride, often attracting the startled eyes of others.

At the same time, Polish soldiers took good care of it. Specially customized "snacks" for it, that is, the preparation of vodka for it to drink. As a result, it has no effect after drinking it, but will soon fall asleep.

The little brown bear who grew up in the army also likes to smoke and drink beer as an adult, and can drink a bottle in one gulp. He was 1.8 meters tall and was best at wrestling, and several Polish soldiers were not necessarily able to beat him.

And its brightest moment was to deliver ammunition on the battlefield, and it still took the initiative to ask for help, which made the soldiers frightened.

The fierce sound of artillery fire and explosions on the battlefield was only a few hundred meters away from where it delivered ammunition. You can imagine how shocked people were when they found a brown bear with a cigarette and hundreds of pounds of ammunition.

As a genius transporter, he never lost his cargo once.

At the end of the war, in recognition of it, the army specially printed the medal of the Bear Soldier to it and its company. Many sculptures have also been built in Poland to commemorate this brave brown bear that participated in the battle.

But in 1947, the brown bear's transport company was demobilized. It was left alone in England and sent to the zoo. However, because they often live with humans, it is difficult to adapt to the environment of living with the same kind.

Although it has become the darling of the zoo, many people come to see it, but it is not happy. Only when old comrades-in-arms come to see it will it jump up and down like a child.

Unfortunately, in 1963, it died inside the zoo. People put up statues for it and wrote its story into many books.

People will always remember this magical World War II combat hero , "Bear Soldier" Voltaic.
