The Palestinian-Israeli conflict lasted two days and culminated in a rapid ceasefire brokered by Egypt. But there are two facts that cannot be ignored when the Palestinian-Israeli conflict can cease fire so quickly.
First, there is a gap in strength between Palestine and Israel, and no major powers have intervened.
In the two days of the Outbreak of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, in addition to causing casualties in Gaza, Israel unilaterally destroyed 10 rocket launch sites, 6 military bases and 8 outposts in Jerhad.
The achievements of the Israeli army have widened the disparity in strength between the two sides, and the Israeli army once approached the border, which also made Jehad dare not be "tough" anymore.
It is reasonable to say that Israel has its back to the United States and Palestine has its back to Russia, and if both Russia and the United States provide armament support, then the Palestinian-Israeli conflict may not be long.
But at this time, Russia and the United States were "anxious" on their respective battlefields, the United States even participated in mediation activities, and Russia did not participate substantively, after all, it needed to preserve weapons to complete the Battle of Donbass and the Battle of Unan.
Only when a "good one is seen" and a "timely stop loss" can Egypt successfully mediate.
Second, Israel's military objectives have been accomplished and are a major prerequisite for a ceasefire.
Israel attacked Gaza on the afternoon of August 5, and on the afternoon of the 7th, Israeli Prime Minister Rapid announced that "the objectives of the Israeli military operation against Gaza have been achieved, and further military action is no longer necessary" and agreed to the ceasefire agreement proposed by Egypt.
Although Jehad said on the afternoon of the 7th that it was still too early to cease fire, after the mediation of Egypt and the United Nations, he finally agreed to a ceasefire on the evening of the 7th (the morning of the 8th Beijing time).
But Palestinian Islamic Jihad leaders said Egypt promised to rescue the two captured commanders from prison and that "the enemy will continue to resume attacks if they do not meet the conditions."
Therefore, the large gap in strength between the two sides, the absence of major power interference, and the completion of military objectives by the stronger side have all contributed to the rapid end of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
On the contrary, Russia and Ukraine do not have these factors that can promote a ceasefire, and the situation between Russia and Ukraine is still stuck.
1) Ukraine is still receiving Western weapons.
Since August, Ukraine has received advanced weapons from Germany that are "not yet equipped by the Germans," Haimas rockets with a doubling range from the United States, and a potential $1 billion in security assistance from the United States.
Since the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Western countries have continuously transported weapons, indirectly reducing the military strength between Russia and Ukraine, and Western weapons have also become russia's key targets.
On August 7, the Russians also destroyed an ammunition depot in Nikolaev, which contained 45,000 tons of NATO-supplied ammunition. It can be said that Russia's military strength to defeat Ukraine is not an easy task.
2. In the end, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict must be decided by Russia and the United States.
Unlike the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, this Palestinian-Israeli conflict does not have the substantive participation of major powers, and Russia and the United States hope that the Palestinian-Israeli ceasefire. But the Russian-Ukrainian conflict is actually a confrontation between Russia and the Western camp led by the United States, and no one obeys anyone.
Therefore, it does not matter whether Russia and Ukraine can reach an agreement, what matters is whether Russia and Ukraine can reach a ceasefire agreement under the "authorization" of the United States.
3. Russia has not yet achieved landmark results.
Judging from the Ukrainian land plate controlled by the Russian army, it is almost the same as the land occupied in March and April, and Russia does not have the advantage in occupying territory. The Russians have not made a breakthrough in destroying Ukraine's "brains," such as important military commanders or administrators.
Therefore, Russia's hand in this regard is not big enough, the winning side is insufficient, and Ukraine will naturally not easily surrender.
4. Instability in Europe has brought variables to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
Although Russia will not have to worry about Palestine for a short time, it still has to mediate between Azerbaijan and Armenia, between Serbia and Kosovo.
Like Palestine in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Armenia and Serbia are backed by Russia.
According to the same logic, if the Russian army goes to support, it will be "divided into three streams" by the southern Ukrainian forces, Azerbaijan and Kosovo at the same time, and Putin absolutely does not want the contradictions and conflicts between these "two pairs" to further escalate.
In short, the world is one wave after another, and Europe and the Middle East are not at peace. These storms not only contain each other, but also "lead the whole body", which may not be how much shock it will bring to the world.
