Slowly, Zhang Boju became more and more enthusiastic about collecting cultural relics. Over time, the number of works in his collection has also increased. Among them are "On the Balcony Post", "You Chun Tu" and so on.
In fact, he collected these artifacts not only because of his own preferences. More than that, he does not want these cultural relics to fall into the hands of other foreigners, and he does not want the precious cultural property of the motherland to be plundered by people in other countries.

In the summer of 1957, Zhang Boju and Chen Yi met. At that time, Chen Yi was admiring the exhibits in a calligraphy and painting exhibition in Beihai, and there were many famous artists in this exhibition, and Chen Yi was very interested.
Later, Chen Yi learned through understanding that the organizer of this exhibition was Zhang Boju, and many famous monuments in the exhibition were donated by him. At this time, Chen Yi had the idea of meeting Zhang Boju in his heart.
In fact, as early as when Chen Yi was the mayor of Shanghai, Zhang Boju wanted to visit him and discuss literature with him. However, after Zhang Boju went to Shanghai, Chen Yi just happened to be out of Shanghai at that time, and Zhang Boju had no choice but to return the same way.

Later, although the two did not see each other very often, they both thought of each other. Maybe this is really a good friend, and in the days when they don't see each other, they will also care about each other and care about each other.

During that time, Zhang Boju's mental state was not particularly good, and he would often fall into depression alone. Chen Yi already knew the situation that Zhang Boju was facing at that time, and he was also silently helping Zhang Boju and helping to solve his friend's difficulties as much as possible.
In 1960, Chen Yi met With Yu Yifu, who had been friends for many years, and Yu Yifu took up the post of provincial party secretary in Jilin Province. In the process of talking with Yu Yifu, Chen Yi thought of Zhang Boju.
Chen Yi felt that perhaps this old friend of his could help Zhang Boju through the difficulties of this stage. So he explained zhang Boju's actual situation to Yu Yifu and asked him to help arrange a job for him in Jilin Province, and Yu Yifu agreed.

After consultation between the two, it was decided to arrange for Zhang Boju and his wife to come to Jilin to take up their posts. A few days later, Chen Yi sent someone to take Zhang Boju and his wife to their home. He specifically advised Zhang Boju to develop cultural undertakings there after he arrived in Jilin, and he believed that Zhang Boju would definitely make great achievements.

Chen Yi felt sad after knowing their specific situation, but at this time, he was already seriously ill, and his physical condition was not as good as a day.
