Marxism holds that to analyze, examine and understand any historical phenomenon, it is necessary to put that historical phenomenon back into the historical environment in which it was born. The reason why Zang Shubo advised Yin Gong from going to Tangdi to watch fish was because This activity of Yin Gong did not conform to the code of conduct that a monarch of that era should follow and practice. If we do not conform, we will "chaotic government"; and repeated "chaotic government" will lead to the defeat of the country.
Moreover, the hidden duke is far away from the capital and goes to Tangdi to watch fish, not to observe the people's feelings, let alone to have fun with the people, but only a kind of amusement activity of himself. It was precisely because of this that he did not dare to say a "no" word to Zang Shubo's advice, and finally had to use the excuse of "I will be a little bit of a distancing" to insist on going there to find pleasure.
The greatest feature of this exhortation is that it is closely centered on a "ritual" word, and from the point of view to the many reasons given to illustrate the point of view, as well as the things and acts that are used as arguments, there is no slight departure from this "ritual" word. That is to say, there was no slight departure from the norms and norms that restricted the behavior of the monarchs at that time. Another very obvious feature is that although the origin of the advice is "the public general is like a tang guan fish", the direct purpose of the advice is also to prevent the hidden public from "like a tang guan fish", but the advice does not say a word about this matter.
This is not only a euphemism, but more importantly, this expression method reflects the focus of the counselor's advice, not on the specific behavior of the hidden gong "like a tang looking at the fish", but the entire etiquette system at that time. If Yin Gong had listened to Zang Shubo's advice and understood the restrictive nature of "etiquette" on him, the "indecent" thing of "rutang guanyu" would naturally not have happened.
