In the men's and women's and team competitions of epee, foil and sabre, the French team was proud of the medal table with 4 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze, the Korean team ranked second with 3 golds, and the Italian team ranked third with 2 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze.
The Chinese team lacked the main players such as Sun Yiwen, the champion of the women's epee individual competition at the Tokyo Olympic Games, Qian Jiarui and Shao Yaqi, and the newcomers in the team, Yu Sihan (female weight) and Shen Chenpeng (male Pei), although they had a brilliant performance in the individual competition, the whole team failed to win the medal in the individual stage. In the team stage of competing for overall strength, the Chinese team is even more difficult in various competitions.

The Chinese women's heavy team won the team championship at the 2019 World Championships by Xu Anqi, Lin Sheng, Zhu Mingye and Sun Yiwen. Compared with the previous championship lineup, Lin Sheng and Zhu Mingye of this World Championship with two young players, Xu And Yu Sihan, the results were not ideal, and they lost to the Swiss team in the quarter-finals.
