In 2012, the railway construction unit began to conduct on-site surveys of Xingshan, Badong and other places in Hubei along the Xiangyang East to Wanzhou North section of the Zhengzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway. The railway staff faced the extremely difficult terrain of construction, surveyed, designed, and built for ten years.

On June 20, 2022, the Zhengyu high-speed railway was put into operation, and the mountains and fertile plains, mountains and rivers and bustling cities were more closely connected into a line.

Ten years ago, most of the travel tools for residents in Xingshan, Padang, Shennongjia and other places in western Hubei were cars, and it was half a day on the road.

The primeval forest is dense, the rock cave is difficult to chisel, the dangerous mountains block the road, and the dark river and deep valley block the way.

The complex environment makes it difficult to build roads, inconvenient flow of people, and difficult to produce special products.

Shennongjia, Xingshan and Padang's new high-speed rail stations broke ground, and steel frame beams were molded into a new high platform in the mountains. In order to protect the natural environment, shennongjia high-speed rail station is built away from natural forest areas, and strictly abides by the regulations that railway construction does not enter the nature reserve.

Xingshan County is the hometown of Zhaojun and the first county in Yichang to open a high-speed railway.

Badong Station is currently the only high-speed rail station in Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, and the original Padang Station has been renamed "Yesanguan Station".

In the morning, take the Zhengyu high-speed train from Wuhan, and you can reach the "kingdom" of the golden snub-nosed monkey in 2 hours - Shennongjia. After enjoying the scenery of Shennongjia forest, take the Zhengyu high-speed train again, 13 minutes to arrive at Zhaojun's hometown of Xingshan, and visit the water and soil that nurture Jingchujia. In the evening, it takes only 16 minutes to take the high-speed train to reach Padang, the "secret place of the porter", from Xingshan to taste the high-quality citrus of the Yangtze River.

The eastern section from Xiangyang to the north of Wanzhou was opened for operation, and the Zhengyu high-speed railway was fully connected.
