In 2012, the railway construction unit began to conduct on-site surveys of Xingshan, Badong and other places in Hubei along the Xiangyang East to Wanzhou North section of the Zhengzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway. The railway staff faced the extremely difficult terrain of construction, surveyed, designed, and built for ten years.
On June 20, 2022, the Zhengyu high-speed railway was put into operation, and the mountains and fertile plains, mountains and rivers and bustling cities were more closely connected into a line.
In the past ten years, the builders of the Zhengyu high-speed railway have carved tunnels in every mountain, built bridges in the face of water, opened roads and protected forests, carved earth-shaking changes on the land of Shenzhou, written a new chapter in the development of the railway with struggle and perseverance, and painted a new picture of the prosperity of the people's lives.

It's the same every day
Ten years ago, most of the travel tools for residents in Xingshan, Padang, Shennongjia and other places in western Hubei were cars, and it was half a day on the road.
The primeval forest is dense, the rock cave is difficult to chisel, the dangerous mountains block the road, and the dark river and deep valley block the way.
The complex environment makes it difficult to build roads, inconvenient flow of people, and difficult to produce special products.
Can such a place really build high-speed rail?
Yes!
Shennongjia, Xingshan and Padang's new high-speed rail stations broke ground, and steel frame beams were molded into a new high platform in the mountains. In order to protect the natural environment, shennongjia high-speed rail station is built away from natural forest areas, and strictly abides by the regulations that railway construction does not enter the nature reserve.
Xingshan County is the hometown of Zhaojun and the first county in Yichang to open a high-speed railway.
Badong Station is currently the only high-speed rail station in Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, and the original Padang Station has been renamed "Yesanguan Station".
Today, the earth and mountains have witnessed the change of the old graben.

In the morning, take the Zhengyu high-speed train from Wuhan, and you can reach the "kingdom" of the golden snub-nosed monkey in 2 hours - Shennongjia. After enjoying the scenery of Shennongjia forest, take the Zhengyu high-speed train again, 13 minutes to arrive at Zhaojun's hometown of Xingshan, and visit the water and soil that nurture Jingchujia. In the evening, it takes only 16 minutes to take the high-speed train to reach Padang, the "secret place of the porter", from Xingshan to taste the high-quality citrus of the Yangtze River.
"The development of the railway is very fast, in the past it was not easy for us to play in western Hubei, and now after the high-speed rail is opened, it is very convenient." A few of our retired old comrades came here to see the landscape of the motherland, and the mood was very cheerful. Mr. Chen, a passenger who took the Zhengyu high-speed train to Shennongjia to play, even praised it.
The Zhengyu high-speed railway is through, not only passengers "see the scenery of western Hubei in one day", but also agricultural products and local characteristic industries from the deep mountains have the opportunity to be seen by more people.
"In the past, transportation was inconvenient, transportation was difficult, many of our good products could not go out of the mountains, and we did not know our products outside. Now through the high-speed rail, not only convenient transportation, there are also our advertisements on the high-speed rail train, which can let more people understand our Baokang's characteristic agricultural products. Mr. Li, a traveler who travels between Baokang County and Shennongjia to make a special intention, said.
Blueberries and fungus from Baokang, tea leaves and citrus from Padang, wild chestnuts from Shennongjia... Gifts from natural mountains will be delivered to thousands of households faster through the Zhengyu high-speed railway.
Ten years of hard work
They are the strugglers behind the high-speed rail
The Zhengyu high-speed railway runs through the whole line, and it is not only the passengers and villagers who are happy, but also the railway people who have devoted themselves to the construction of the Zhengyu high-speed railway in the past decade.
Recalling the experience of participating in the construction and operation of the Zhengyu high-speed railway, Huang Yong, foreman of the Xingshan Bridge Tunnel Workshop of the Xiangyang Engineering Section, was very emotional: "In the 18.79-kilometer-long Xinhua Tunnel, we knocked and inspected one meter at a time, hammer by hammer, and worked on the hot and humid section every day. This work is hard, but it is glorious! ”
"The Zhengyu high-speed railway has been opened, the compatriots in the mountains have ushered in a happy road, and the expectations of many years have become a reality, but our mission has not yet been completed." We will continue to take root here and guard the safe and smooth flow of this high-speed rail artery. Liu Weiping, deputy director of the Xingshan passenger line workshop of the Xiangyang Engineering Section, said.
The laughter and joy of passengers, the expectations and visions of residents, and the hard work and sweat of the builders are all accompanied by ten years of sunrise and moonset and the rotation of the stars and rivers, and an inch and a hammer have been chiseled into the steel and iron bones of the Zhengyu high-speed railway.
