The old town hall ceiling in Lüneburg, Germany, hangs the shoulder blades of a wild boar, and according to legend, in the Middle Ages, two hunters chased a wild boar in the forest, and the wild boar escaped with his wounds and died in a swamp. When the two hunters approached, they found that the pig's mane was covered with a layer of white salt. They felt strange that one of them wanted to take water from a nearby creek to drink, only to find that the water was salty.

The adventures of these two hunters helped people discover salt mines in Lüneburg, thus making the place prosperous and wealthy.

In honor of the pig that accidentally hit and caused the discovery of the salt mine, people did not eat it, but collected its bones and hung it in the town hall.
