As for the reason, it is simple, as of now, Australia is almost one of the most affected countries in the world with the most species infestation, and not one of them.
In the mid-19th century, a British colonist, Thomas Austen, brought a group of hares to Australia with his friends. He is then kept in captivity on his own farm for his own hunting and recreation. Who would have thought that in the later period, the hares would flee the farm and breed on their own in the wild.
In a short period of time, it was flooded throughout Australia. Due to the lack of natural enemies and the ability to reproduce, by the early 20th century Australia's hare population had reached a terrifying 10 billion. To this day, hares are still a headache for the Australian government.

When it comes to the invasion of Australian species, it is necessary to mention a unique species, that is, the largest toad on the earth, the scientific name is called the sea toad, and the jianghu people call it the sugarcane toad.
Most people who listen to the name should know that this toad is good for crops. Sea toads are native to South and Central America and live mainly in meadows and woodlands. Because of its great love for pests in sugarcane fields, it has been introduced by places such as Hawaii in the United States, and the local sugarcane insect pests have been greatly reduced after the introduction.
Interestingly, the Australian sugarcane industry at that time was also plagued by sugarcane worms. This pest can not only damage the root system of sugarcane, but can even affect the growth of other crops.
Later, under the strong protest of many people, the Australian government set up relevant organizations. In 1935, a shipment of sea toads was brought back from Hawaii. However, as with many species, the sea toad, after entering Australia, not only did not eliminate sugarcane pests, but instead flooded wildly and became the biggest scourge of native organisms.

The body length of the sea toad is generally between 15 and 18 cm, and the maximum can grow to about 30 cm. This toad can breed all year round, and it only takes a year for the female to enter the mature stage, laying 30,000 eggs at a time, and the rate of reproduction can no longer be described as horror.
Due to the lack of natural enemies in Australia, the speed at which sea toads reproduce after entering Australia is simply staggering, and in just a few years it has soared to 1.5 billion. What is even more frightening is that this toad is also very toxic, and native organisms are extremely easy to poison and die after being eaten by mistake.
However, in response to this serious species invasion, the Australian government has studied many times and found that the juvenile sea toad is not very toxic. Once preyed upon by some native creatures, because of the small amount of toxins in their bodies, these creatures have an aversion to sea toads, thus avoiding the death of large areas of northern earth organisms.
In this way, the situation is effectively controlled. But in any case, the introduction of exotic species from Australia has finally brought harm to the mainland again and again.
