As an Imperial official, in addition to being able to run with the protagonist group by many of his subordinates, Gideon's combat strength is not strong, and he is only wearing the Imperial officer's uniform with a little armor, but the black cape on a red background is very windy. HotToys buried wire in the puppet's cape, making it easy to make some shapes.
Gideon is played by the famous "fried chicken uncle" Gian carlo Esposito, this doll is estimated to have attracted some fans of actors, but this hotToys head sculpture production is quite a failure, the degree of restoration is very low, but it is very similar to the old Hong Kong actor Wu Yaohan.
The matching Dark Sword is another selling point of this doll. The Dark Sword is actually a lightsaber made by Tarre Vizsla, a Jedi knight among the Mandalorians. After Tal's death, the Dark Sword was originally kept in the Jedi Temple, but it was stolen by the Vizra family, and it was passed down from generation to generation in Mandalorian, and was considered a symbol of leadership in many Mandalorian clans, including the Vizra family, the Death Guard, and so on.
Although it is a lightsaber, the shape of the dark sword varies greatly, including the blade is very special, with a clear blade. HotToys's dark sword this time can only be said to be ordinary, the plastic sense of the blade is relatively strong, and there is no design of a luminous mechanism. After changing the fan-shaped special blade with the sword swing effect, it feels like "Wu Yaohan fan fan"!
In The Clone Wars, Darth Moore obtains the Dark Sword, and in The Mandalorian, Din Jarrin obtains the Dark Sword from Gideon. HotToys' dark sword is indeed more suitable for them.
In fact, there is not much to say in other places, hotToys, and it is a Star Wars series, and the workmanship materials are consistently high-level, but in addition to the head carving, there is another place worth complaining about, that is, height. This Governor Gideon is very short, and it will not be cared about it alone, and it will appear if it is placed with other dolls, especially with Vader, which is simply underage.
Even Luke Skywalker, who is known for his short stature, is slightly taller than Gideon. This height estimate is due to the fact that Uncle Fried Chicken is not tall (less than 1.73 meters), which is indeed shorter than Mark Hamill at 1.75 meters. But there's a problem here, the height of the character of Gideon is 1.83 meters (from the 2021 version of Star Wars: Character Encyclopedia), which should be a mistake of HotToys.
In fact, I don't like this kind of Imperial officer character in the canon series, such a matching height, it is better to exchange it for Luke's head, even if it is a blackened version of Luke. Standing with Darth Vader in this way, it is very father-son feeling, "I am your father" is correct!
Before Gideon did not pay too much attention in his state, the position of the belt was misplaced, but fortunately, the blackened Luke was the body.
