Levon Biss is a British photographer for whom the large number of dried specimens in the collection of the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh, Scotland, has become a rare subject, although these seeds or fruits have been dried and processed, which at first glance is a bit strange. He has selected 117 pieces and taken a series of stunning macro photographs, assembled into a collection called The Hidden Beauty of Seeds & Fruits, perfectly showing the hidden beauty of fruits and seeds!
Precious seeds such as the avacia bean Rosary Pea of agate or the flourishing Ko Phuang of Thailand and the endangered sea coconut Coco de Mer are recorded by Biss with photographic lenses, which mainly capture the texture and subtle color differences of the seeds and fruits, with cracked pods or slices as the angle of compositional perspective, one by one, showing a variety of internal details and structures that were previously obscured by the seed shell.
Biss specimen screening should not only observe beauty and beauty, but also pay attention to the propagation process of seeds and their shape, location and historical lamp, in his view, the final work should be used as educational teaching materials, rather than just beautiful pictures.
