Yellow sand filled the sky and the cannons rumbled. In early June, a brigade of the 80th Group Army conducted a live-fire exercise in the northwest desert.
At dawn, a rapid alarm sounded, and officers and men rushed to the battle position. Immediately, dozens of chariots rolled up the dust and drove toward the target area.
Inside the artillery command vehicle, one after another instructions were urgently transmitted to all battle positions. On the gun position, the gunner quickly reloaded the shells. "Launch!" At the sound of an order, the shells roared out. Between the lightning stones and fires, the "enemy" fire point was successfully destroyed.
Immediately, the attack detachment launched an attack on the "enemy" position. When officers and men reached a narrow area, they were suddenly attacked by "enemy" fire. "Evacuate and hide!" The commander immediately gave orders and called for reinforcements from his superiors. The special operations squad obeyed the order and quickly took a helicopter to the skies over the designated area to carry out airborne landings and launched a sabotage attack on the "enemy" targets.
At the same time, the barrier-breaking team cleared the passage obstacles, and the reconnaissance team carried out close reconnaissance... The air and ground fire closely coordinated and launched an onslaught on the target, and the "enemy" gradually showed signs of rout. The commander seized the fighter plane and gave a decisive order, and the troops launched a final charge to occupy the "enemy" position in one fell swoop.
