Li Da's earliest term as chief of staff should date back to 1932, when Li Da had just broken away from the Kuomintang and joined the CCP only a year later.
And this is not the reason why Li Da is talked about by people, the most important thing is that he has assisted five founding marshals in his decades as chief of staff.

In the early days of the founding of New China, the whole of China was thriving, and Li Dana's son, who grew up in the countryside, also found him at this time.
In the face of his father, who had not been seen for a long time, after a short greeting, Li Rulong explained the purpose of his trip: "I want to find a job. ”
After listening to his son's words, Li Da fell into contemplation, and according to Li Da's position at that time, it may not be difficult to find a job for his son.
However, as far as he was concerned, he did not want to make a special case because of himself: "If you want to actively participate in revolutionary work, if you are a peasant, you must take the peasants as the foundation, and if you are my son, you must learn from me; first, you must listen to the party' words, and second, you must not make any demands on the party, and you must not engage in special words." ”
After listening to his father's words, Li Rulong did not make more words, looking at the homely meals on the table and the ordinary houses around him, Li Rulong understood the deep meaning of his father.
So he never mentioned the matter of finding a job again, and secretly decided to go back to the countryside and rely on his own hands to support himself and his family.
Later, Li Da specially sent a rack car to Li Rulong, "You do a good job in agricultural production in your hometown." ”
Li Rulong nodded, and after years, he never mentioned that he wanted to help himself accomplish anything with his father's position until 1956.
Li Da's old house was already crumbling because of its age, and Li Rulong was anxious in his heart and wanted to repair it, but he couldn't come up with so much money for a while.
After tossing and turning, Li Rulong wrote a letter to Li Da, in which, in addition to explaining the situation of the house, at the end, politely pleaded, hoping that Li Da could mail some money to prepare for the construction of a new house.
It was just that li da did not realize Li Rulong's expectations after receiving the letter, so he wrote: "This matter is within his ability, he cannot afford to build a new house, and it is not impossible to repair the old house." ”
Hopes of rebuilding the house were disappointed, so Li Rulong had to make simple repairs to the crumbling house as his father had requested.
