Limitations of the division between "the realm of having me" and "the realm of no self" in Wang Guowei's "Words and Sayings on Earth":

There is my realm, to observe things from my eyes, so things have my color. The realm of no-self, which observes things from the thing itself, so it is not clear what is me and what is something. The ancient people wrote lyrics and copied the majority of my realm, but it is not impossible to imitate the realm of no-self, this is only because the haojie can cultivate themselves.

Translation: In the realm of selflessness, people can only attain it in stillness. There is my realm, and people get it from moving to still. Therefore, the former is beautiful and the latter is magnificent.
Although the "state of being self" and "the realm of no self" can be roughly distinguished, there are many undecided factors in the value and stylistic orientation between the two. For example, the realm theory focuses on the concept of "famous sentences", but if it is only based on sentences, then the status of this "realm of having me" or "realm of no self" in the whole text is actually full of fluidity, and the echo or contradiction with other parts of the passage will inevitably bring about subtle changes in the two realms. In fact, the judgment of having me or not relies more on the emotional tone of the whole text. For example, in terms of the theories of its creation and writing, idealist and realist, inside and out, valuing external objects and despising external objects, the interdependence of "the realm of me" and "the realm of no self" is more normal, and the relationship between "I" and "thing" is so diametrically different that it is easy to lead the understanding of this theory to simplification or absolutism without comparing it with other related discourses.
