The year 2021, which has just passed, is the 50th anniversary of Yu Junjian's career in art, which also coincides with the second year of the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, Yu Junjian, who retired from the transfer unit China Federation of Literature and Literature in 2016, began to write in the bookstore. "I remember that my biggest ideal as a child was not singing, my favorite was astronomical geography, history, and then writing. I really didn't expect that singing would become the 'ferry' of my life. In the dead of night, Yu Junjian occasionally remembered his fifty years of walking, "suddenly bursting with pride and pride, a burst of bitterness and heartache..." Compared with the glory in the eyes of outsiders, he knows that his artistic life path is not easy, and he takes writing books as a form of commemoration, "a very self-absorbed, not too troublesome form of commemoration for others", which is an explanation to himself.

Over the course of a year, these "prides and bitterness", through Yu Junjian's "handwriting", have become five books of up to 1.5 million words: two vocal monographs, two collections of essays and a collection of ancient poems. Except for "Yu Junjian Vocal Notes", which is based on the shorthand of the class content, the others are handwritten by him word by word: he gets up at 4 o'clock every day and insists on writing for seven or eight hours. "I have several books at the same time, and when I write, the manuscripts of the five books are placed on the table, written to the place where the shell is stuck, and then another book is written, which is equivalent to changing the brain."

Yu Yinping, a peasant singer from Gansu, said: "After class, listening to wu pan (a student of Yu Junjian Vocal Music Public Welfare Classroom) singing the "Two Lands Song", suddenly I felt very kind, and my voice suddenly seemed to be much closer to people, closer to people's hearts. Yu Yinping's "lesson" occurred in Yu Junjian's vocal public welfare classroom in Beijing that taught hundreds of students for free, because Yu Junjian put the video of the class on the Internet, and "people from other places" like Yu Yinping were also benefited. The valuable vocal experience in these classes was compiled into a book by Yu Junjian, which is another of the five books, "Notes on the Vocal Music of Yu Junjian".

2. Do not ignore the "Chinese standard" in order to meet the "sound standard"

In 2014, the famous musician Zhou Weizhi died, Yu Junjian went to mourn, Zhou Weizhi's wife, also a famous singer Wang Kun said to him: "You must tell young people how to sing the 'national singing method', and you must revitalize the real 'national singing method'." ”

What kind of language has what kind of singing method, what kind of singing method can produce what kind of song, Yu Junjian firmly believes that this is the inevitability of a national cultural bloodline.

In the middle Chinese there are "thirteen ruts", there are rhymes, and there are four sounds. "Language determines the singing method, compared to the bel canto singing method, which emphasizes 'in place', and our national singing method pays attention to 'taste'. According to our language structure and speech state, we must sing out this characteristic of our own. ”

In a public lecture, when the children present were fifteen or sixteen years old, Yu Junjian asked them if they knew what the "original ecological singing method" was, and no one knew. He also asked many children born after 2000 if they like folk songs. Do you like ethnic singing? More than half of the answers received were also "what is a folk song" and "what is a national singing method".

However, Yu Junjian knows that there are many original and excellent practitioners in our national singing. "The so-called original taste should be Wang Kun and Guo Lanying, Caidan Zhuoma, Deng Yuhua, Wang Yinxuan, Guo Song, Hu Songhua, He Jiguang, Crimean, etc. In addition to these singers of the older generation, there should also be Li Guyi, Wu Yanze, Zhu Fengbo, Li Shuangjiang, and Jiang Dawei." The singers of the original Chinese folk songs always put the "taste" of folk songs in the first place of singing concepts and singing consciousness, "no matter how they sing, in their singing, they always take the strong Chinese 'taste' as the main embodiment."

"Water" can sing out the sense of flow, "incense" can sing the taste, and "white" can sing the color. In the song "Who Doesn't Say That My Hometown Is Good", there is a sentence of "layer by layer of green", and the "layer" of green can also be sung out of the level. "If you don't sing the 'word head' of the 'layer', the song will have no taste, and you will not be able to sing the meaning of 'layer', don't ignore the 'Chinese standard' in order to meet the 'standard of sound'."

Yu Junjian believes that we must emphasize that between the national singing method and the bel canto singing method, there must be a relationship between the national singing method and the bel canto singing method, and it must be a relationship of learning from each other's strengths and complementing each other's weaknesses, and it should never be a relationship between who leads whose nose, let alone who "melts" the relationship between whom.

3. Artists should have sincere feelings

In Yu Junjian's own public account, on May 31, he posted two songs recommended by him, the post was titled "Sad and Happy Music in Extraordinary Days", two songs, one is a deep and melancholy cello solo song, and the other is a cheerful Mongolian style song. He briefly introduced these two songs in the post, and wrote in the recommendation: This piece of music and a song of sadness and joy is intertwined with the human feelings in the current anti-epidemic days.

At the opening ceremony of each session of the National Vocal Music Advanced Seminar taught by Yu Junjian, he would put forward the "three points" of being an artist to the students: to pursue the spirit of art, to improve the quality of humanity, and to cultivate compassion. "The artist must have a state of poetry, and at all times there must be a state of poetry, which is the spirit of art. At the same time, we must have compassion for others, which is artistic perception. Art is the carrier of human emotions, is the way for human beings to know themselves, to be full of humanistic feelings, without such feelings is not good art. ”

He fondly recalled the predecessors who carefully pronounced their names one by one in his mouth: "In their singing, they pursue the precision, precision, essence, and even spirit of the national language, Chinese emotion and regional style. He reminded future singers not to be absent in these areas.

When the Golden Bell Award just ended, four of the five gold medal winners came from the "Yu Junjian Public Welfare Classroom", Yu Junjian was both unexpected and surprised, thinking about it and not so "unexpected", he was not proud of his music classroom doing well, he was glad that he insisted on teaching the original national singing method to have an effect.

He wrote in the preface to his new book: I hope to be able to clarify and find the difference between national singing and bel canto singing. Just as we need to find the formal and aesthetic differences between ballet and folk classical dance, oil painting and ink painting, Gothic and Baroque architecture and large roofs and stilt houses, tuxedos and cardigans, etc.

"Sincerity is the soul of all art," he said in a book-based Q&A on how to make a song "unforgettable."
