62 years later, when his grandson Ma Haochen was facing the graduation assignment, he took the initiative to submit an application for Shubian, followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, and was determined to take root in the frontier.

Grandpa Ma Dengkai was born in June 1937 to a poor family in Zizhou County, Shaanxi Province. In 1959, Madden kai was honorably enlisted in the army. Ma Dengkai, who came to the army, got up early every day to go dark and practiced his skills in killing the enemy.
One night, during a discussion in the class, Madden asked the instructor, "What makes a true hero?" The instructor thought for a moment and replied, "When the party needs you, it does not hesitate to stand up and give everything for the motherland and the people. These words were deeply imprinted on Madden kai's heart.
In July 1960, Madon Kai's unit took part in the Battle of Mount Sika. Due to the stubborn resistance of the rebels, the battle situation was once in a state of stalemate, and Ma Dengkai took the initiative to ask Miao to take on the task of assault.
About 40 meters away from the enemy position, Ma Dengkai took advantage of the gap in enemy fire to pounce and counterattack, accidentally being shot in both legs, and the blood soaked his trouser legs. He gritted his teeth and secretly resolved: "Climb up and resolutely destroy the enemy!" ”

After crawling nearly twenty meters wounded, Madden was shot again in the chest. At this moment, the comrades behind him fell one after another in the suppression of the enemy's fire, and the words of the instructor sounded in Ma Dengkai's ears again. He endured the pain, pulled out the only 2 grenades left in his waist, and used his last strength to pull out the fuse and rush to the enemy group.
Ma Dengkai's bravery and fearlessness won the opportunity for his comrades to attack. With the sound of the charge trumpet, the soldiers launched a charge and annihilated the enemy.

Ma Haochen in life
Since childhood, Ma Haochen has been deeply affected by his grandfather's glorious deeds and is determined to become an excellent soldier like his grandfather. After the college entrance examination, Ma Haochen resolutely chose to apply for the Army Artillery Air Defense Academy. After learning that he had been admitted to the academy, his heart was excited.
However, reality poured cold water on Ma Haochen, and the strict management and high-intensity training of the military academy made it difficult for him to adapt for a while.
But whenever Ma Haochen wanted to give up, he would think of his grandfather's heroic deeds - in order to win, his grandfather would not hesitate to sacrifice his life, how could he easily give up when he encountered such a little difficulty?
Ma Haochen gritted his teeth to improve his training performance. He set himself the principle of "three more": training more than others, sweating more than others, and suffering more than others.
