The two belly-facing fish are anti-swimming catfish. At first glance, it looks as if they have hung up or are about to hang up, but in fact, they are alive and well, and they are swimming backstroke! The reason why I turn my belly like this is because this position can better disguise myself and make it easier to forage. Their official name is black-bellied 𬶠and are native to the middle Congo River basin in Africa.
Anti-swimming catfish rarely swim in the water, preferring to swim at the bottom or on the surface of the water. This upside-down posture also makes it easier for them to eat food floating on the surface of the water when they swim backwards.
They are gentle in temperament, prefer to be quiet, and are mainly nocturnal, feeding on insects, crustaceans and plants. Juveniles don't swim backwards at first, and after two months, they swim and rest upside down. The more objects around them, the more they tend to swim backwards. When swimming backwards, they swim faster. But when they need to look for food underwater, they swim normally like other fish. #奇妙的动物 #
