Today to share the works of song dynasty poet Su Shi, "Begonia"
Among the Song poets, Su Zizhan is not my favorite, I love Ouyang Xiu, the taoist of the valley, and the like.
Ran Zi Zhan brother has quite a few words, or swinging intestines, or low wandering, or true compassion, or winding paths, people can't let go.
Talk about Begonia
As usual, let's start with a small science popularization:
The phrase "go to sleep late at night" is actually a classic, using the artistic creation technique of "borrowing and using", alluding to Tang Xuanzong's praise of Yang Guifei's "begonia sleeping without enough ears".
Shi Zai, Emperor Ximing summoned the noble concubines to a banquet, and the concubines did not wake up, and the emperor said: Begonia did not sleep enough.
A beautiful dream, with affectionate whispers and the favor of a king, is the best time.
Late one night, Su Shi drank under the begonia flowers and wrote a poem when he was in a strong mood.
The east wind blows softly, the begonia branches are invincible to the cool breeze, slightly trembling and swaying, delicate and loving.
The east wind disperses the thin clouds, the moonlight flutters, and the faint light covers the begonia flowers with a noble and gorgeous luster, like water ripples of the wind.
The aroma of begonias, and the hazy fog under the moonlight, were indistinguishable for a moment: was the aroma dissolving the fog, or the fog having incense? Is the moonlight fog? Fog is moonlight?
Yue'er quietly turned around the cloister in the courtyard
Late at night, sleeping with flowers? Or a beauty?
I, worried that the night is late, the flowers and the beauty sleep together, the ancients with candles at night have been swimming for a long time, floating like a dream, for the joy of geometry?
Tonight I held up a silver candle to drop red tears, am I afraid of missing the bloom of a begonia?
Or a tear in red makeup?
With this burning heat of life, beauty please don't sleep alone late at night
Flowers, would you like to bloom for me for a night?
In this seven-word poem, the first sentence writes about the purity and beauty of the begonia, the second sentence writes about the begonia at night, and the poet creates a wonderful realm, a realm of incense mist, ethereal mist, three points of psychedelic and two points of intoxication.
The last two sentences use allusions, late at night the poet is afraid of flowers to sleep, the Ming Emperor uses flowers as a metaphor for people, Dongpo uses people as a metaphor for flowers, and is cited as a confidant of flowers, interesting and affectionate, and is a person in temperament.
Qing Dynasty poet Zha Shenxing commented: This poem is extremely popular and appreciated, but it is not Mr. Old Age.
"Vulgarity aside", why is this poem so appreciated?
We believe that "Begonia" holds a charm, just right between "fragrant" and "lonely", thick and light, neither too beautiful, nor less flavorful, it is really a clever hand to take the situation, non-lay people can do.
It can be seen that Mr. Zha Shenxing's comment on "vulgarity" is not objective.
Su Dongpo is known for his boldness, and occasionally innocent, such a delicate brush of romantic color is rare, especially valuable and cute.
