UN Secretary-General Spokesperson Dijaric: The UN has formally approved Turkey's request to change its foreign language name from Turkey to Türkiye.
On December 4 last year, Erdogan signed a decree on changing Turkey's official English name from Turkey to Türkiye. He believes that the new name "better reflects the culture, civilization and values of the Turkish nation."
