Benzema has wanted to be the best striker in the world since he was a child.
In January 2005, Lyon coach Paul Legon gave Benzema a career debut at the age of 17 and 1 month in a match against Metz. Throughout the 2005–06 season, Benzema made a total of six league appearances. In the 2005–06 season, he made 16 cup and league appearances for Lyon, scoring four goals.
In the 2007–08 season, Benzema broke out, making 52 appearances in all competitions and scoring 31 goals. He maintains a steady output of firepower and is arguably Lyon's most important player. While the No. 9 shirt was worn on Brazilian striker Fred, Benzema got the no. 10 and wasn't far from the No. 9.
After the departures of Karoo, Maluda and Viltod, Benzema was given more opportunities to perform. He made his debut in the Champions League early on, scoring his first career goal against Norway's Rosenborg BK in December 2005. In the 2007–08 season, he captured the public's attention with his outstanding performances against Rangers and Manchester United.
In the group stage, he scored the Glasgow Rangers goal and Lyon won 3-0 to advance to the knockout stage. In the quarter-finals, they played against Manchester United. In the first leg, Benzema scored and Lyon drew 1-1 at home. In the second leg, Cristiano Ronaldo scored at Old Trafford and United won the game, making it 2-1 on aggregate to advance to the next round.

In order to make other clubs feel bad, Lyon and Benzema have renewed their contracts until 2013 (the contract has the option of a one-year extension). In the 2007–08 season, Benzema won the Ligue 1 title with Lyon and became The Ligue 1 top scorer with 20 goals.
He then finished the 2008–09 season in Lyon. In July 2009, he joined Real Madrid for a transfer fee of £30 million.
Former Real Madrid president Calderon had a crush on Benzema early on and had been following his progress, but was intimidated by Lyon's sky-high asking prices.
Benzema was a bit uncomfortable when he first arrived at Real Madrid. In 2009-10, he made 33 appearances for his new club and scored nine goals, the lowest record of his Real Madrid career. He came in second place behind Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo. That season, Benzema made 27 league appearances, only 14 of which were starters. Many people think he came to Real Madrid too early.

That summer, Benzema was investigated along with a national team teammate. Zahia Dehar accused the two players of paying money to have sex with her when she was under 18.
In France, the age of legal conduct is 15 years old, but it is a crime to pay for sexual relations with someone under the age of 18. If the crime of sexual relations with a young prostitute becomes famous, the person can be sentenced to up to three years' imprisonment and a fine of 45,000 euros.
Four years later, a French court dropped the charges against Benzema, ruling that there was not enough evidence to prove that DeHar was a minor at the time of the incident.
In November 2009, four months after Benzema's move to Real Madrid, his hairstart Karim Zenati was in a lawsuit. The jun was arrested for speeding, and the police found more than 200 kilograms of marijuana in the car.
In November 2015, Benzema was placed under judicial investigation for alleged attempts to blackmail Valbuena with sex videos. He confessed to being involved in the blackmail and told investigators he was speaking to Valbuena on behalf of "a childhood friend."
The scandal did not affect Benzema's state. That season, he helped Real Madrid win the Champions League again. He made 27 appearances in the league and scored 24 goals (a personal record at the time).
Since C Ronaldo left the team in the summer of 2018, Benzema has been improving every year, and his personal performance is getting better and better every year. This year, he finally became one of the popular winners of the Golden Globes.
After the 2016 "videogate" incident, Benzema's casual and cynical tone in the call recording shocked the French public.
