After the death of Ming Chengzu Zhu Di, the number of martyrs once reached more than 30, including a woman surnamed Han who paid tribute to Zhu Di by The Joseon Dynasty, which later became Han Lifei.
When she learned that she was going to be buried, Han Lifei knelt on the ground and begged Emperor Akihito zhu Gaozi to go home to support her parents. Zhu Gaozhi was a "Renzong", and he knew that he was benevolent, but in the matter of martyrdom, he still showed an unusually cold side.
Human martyrdom was the ugly custom of burial with living people, which flourished in the pre-Qin Dynasty and gradually declined during the Tang and Song dynasties, and even rarely occurred. However, after Zhu Yuanzhang established the Ming Dynasty, he restored this cruel system.
When Zhu Yuanzhang died, he issued an edict to bury all 40 concubines in the Ming Tombs. Restoring human martyrdom is undoubtedly a reversal of history, and it will face pressure from social morality, but Zhu Yuanzhang has his own ideas.
The emperor died, what about so many of his concubines? Can't we all go to widowhood or monasticism? Moreover, there is a probability of being widowed or leaving the family, and there is a probability of adultery or even cheating, and if you can't figure it out, you will be put on a green hat. Only by letting them go with them can they be a hundred and end up pure forever.
Many emperors had such concerns, but did not fully implement them. But Zhu Yuanzhang is different, he has a strong desire for possession and control, even if he restores people to martyrdom.
Therefore, since Zhu Yuanzhang began, human martyrdom has almost become an ancestral system, and as a descendant, Zhu Gaozi naturally has to abide by it from a legal point of view.
If you consider zhu Di's improper position, as a son, Zhu Gaozi can only follow the ancestral system cautiously, so as to reduce the pressure of his own succession. This is also understandable.
The martyrdom of the Ming Dynasty did not mean that all the harem concubines had to be buried. Generally speaking, those who have been canonized as concubines and other high-ranking titles, who have given birth to children and whose children have been given the title of Pan, can also be buried without martyrdom. Of course, those who have meritorious service in the mother's family can also be spared.
The above favorable factors, Han Lifei could not rely on any of them. Moreover, in the early years, when Han Lifei entered the palace, she was implicated in the Lü Yu case and was beaten into the Cold Palace.
Later, Han Lifei was not starved to death because she was helped by the eunuchs who guarded the gate, but all her maids were killed. Therefore, Han Lifei's situation in the harem can be imagined.
For Han Lifei's plea, Zhu Gaozi could only refuse. But Zhu Gaozi was not a completely ruthless person, and he agreed that Han Lifei's nursing mother, that is, Jin Hei, who was married together at that time, could be spared from death.
The Ming Dynasty stipulated that the families of Korean tribute women could receive favors from the Ming emperor as the price of a virgin.
Probably for this reason, Kim Hei was later enfeoffed as Kyung-hye, and by the time of Emperor Jongjong, he returned to Korea with other Korean women. After arriving in North Korea, Kim Hei told the whole story of the incident. Based on her account, the historian wrote the details into the Records of the Li Dynasty.
According to the records, the situation in which Han Lifei died at that time was as follows:
And the collapse of the (Yongle) Emperor, the martyrdom of the palace people, more than thirty people, when the day of death, all paid in court. Drop out, all lead to the church, and the cry shakes the temple. A small wooden bed was placed in the hall, and a lanyard was placed on it, and the head was taken into it, and the bed was removed, and all the pheasants died. When Han Shi was dying, Gu said to Jin Heiyue: "Niangwu go!" go! "Before he could finish speaking, a eunuch went to bed next to him, but he died with Cui Shi.
In a word, the women were hanged. For this matter, the domestic history books are vague, and there is not even a single word left. Maybe Mingren deliberately avoided it, after all, human martyrdom is not a so glorious thing. #历史真知棒 #
