Pearl of Asia
The Pearl of Asia is 100 mm long, 60 to 70 mm wide, and weighs 121 g, making it the second largest natural alien pearl in the world. It was harvested in the Persian Gulf in 1628.
This pearl has a particularly mysterious and turbulent experience.
The Persian king at the time, Urmon, bought it, named it the "Pearl of Asia", and gave it to the queen, who was particularly fond of pearls. Later, the Pearl of Asia was given to the Qianlong Emperor of the Qing Dynasty in China through the hand of another Persian king, and became Qianlong's favorite.
Later, after several generations of inheritance, in the hands of Empress Dowager Cixi, Cixi loved it and asked the court craftsmen to inlay a large piece of tourmaline next to this pearl, because in Chinese medicine, pearls have the effect of calming the gods.
In 1900, the Eight-Power Alliance stole the Pearl of Asia. After 18 years, it reappeared in Hong Kong, China, when a Chinese official bought it for about $50,000.
After World War II, the Pearl of Asia was sold in Paris, but the price and buyer were kept secret. After that, it became invisible. It wasn't until 1993, when a jewelry store in Tokyo, Japan, borrowed an artificially cultured pearl from a London owner's home for exhibition in commemoration of its 100 years, that it reappeared.
After that, the Pearl of Asia disappeared again and became a mysterious pearl.
