"The jinsha water beats the cloud cliff warm, and the Dadu bridge crosses the iron cable cold." More happy with the snow of the Min Mountains, the three armies after the end of the face. "Yak Revolution" takes the famous "Yak Revolution" that occurred in Aba Prefecture during the Red Army's Long March into the Chuankang area as the main plot line, takes the real historical events of grain requisition as the background, takes the Red Army as the northward movement, and raises grain with local people, toastmasters and religious people in Songpan Grassland as the theme, truly tells the tragic history of the Red Army's experience of climbing snowy mountains and crossing grasslands, and shows the rich red cultural resources of Aba Prefecture in the old revolutionary area.

Relive the love of the Red Army and the people in the glory years of the Red Army

In October 1934, after the defeat of the fifth anti-"encirclement and suppression" campaign in the Central Revolutionary Base Areas, the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army led by the Communist Party of China was forced to shift strategically and carry out the Great Long March. From April 1935 to August 1936, the three main forces of the First, Second and Fourth Fronts of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army successively passed, stayed and moved to northwest Sichuan. The Aba area became the area with the largest number of Red Army passes through and the longest stay during the Long March, and it is also one of the areas with the most difficult natural environmental conditions during the Long March, which has cast a great spirit of snowy mountains and grasslands.

During the Yan'an period and after the founding of the People's Republic of China, Mao Zedong repeatedly spoke highly of the revolutionary contributions of the Tibetan and Qiang Hui and Han peoples when the Red Army climbed snowy mountains and crossed meadows, and fondly praised them as a "yak revolution" unique to the history of the Chinese revolution.

"Yak Revolution" takes this little-known history as the background, directly takes the "Yak Revolution" proposed by Chairman Mao Zedong as the title of the play, and takes a group of Officers and Men of the Red Army raising grain as the main line, reproducing the real history of the Red Army's exemplary implementation of ethnic policies, uniting the masses of ethnic minorities, eliminating estrangement and misunderstanding, and winning the support of the Tibetan and Qiang people, reflecting the deep affection of the Red Army and the ethnic minority masses, as well as the firm faith and sacrifice and dedication of the Red Army soldiers.

Through what the grain requisition detachment saw, heard, and felt, the play truly recounted the tragic and magnificent history of the Red Army's experience of climbing snowy mountains and crossing meadows, and portrayed the shocking picture of the sons and daughters of Aba at that time with a population of only more than 200,000, a per capita annual grain of 500 kilograms, and less than two livestock per capita.

Snowy mountains and meadows, red Aba, the Red Army and the Aba people "breathe together, share the fate, and connect hearts". From the prelude to the end, there are wonderful songs such as "Offering Yak Barley to the Red Army", "Tibetan and Han Family Relatives", "Eternal Long March" and so on. The 1-hour and 40-minute repertoire, with its magnificent waves, ups and downs, meticulous twists and turns, praises the depth of the water conditions of the military and the people from multiple angles and in multiple levels, praises the great spirit of the Long March, and reflects the glorious music of the unity of the military and the people and the unity of the enemy.

On the "Wheat Cutting Certificate", Junxiu's font writes the deep water feelings of the military and civilian fish, and also means that the spirit of the Long March has been passed on. On the stage, the barley changes from green to yellow, and the actors use song and dance to express the water conditions of the military and civilian fish; under the stars, the fat yak model frequently nods, as if talking intimately with the owner; the cold wind whistles, the snow flies, and the bloody rain of war alternates with the grass, snowy mountains, and Tibetan lofts on the stage. The screen presents the beauty of the snow-capped mountains, the actors are supporting the climbing of the snowy mountains, and they are fighting against the harsh natural weather, and the audience is impressed by the revolutionary spirit of the heroes and martyrs who are "particularly able to fight, especially able to endure hardships, especially able to unite, and especially able to endure".

Surrounded by 5.1 surround sound and compatible stereo sound, while immersing themselves in the beauty of the mountains, valleys and grasslands of Aba Prefecture, the audience seemed to regard themselves as a member of the grain collection team, collecting grain with local people, toastmasters and religious people in Songpan Grassland (now the Aba Yellow River Grassland), and looking back at the touching scenes of history in peacetime, which caused the audience to red-eyed.

"Carrying forward the spirit of the Long March, praising the good traditions and good style of the Red Army and praising the Tibetan and Han families", they were deeply supported by the people of Aba, calling them "bodhisattva soldiers", and the sons and daughters of Aba cut down on food and clothing to raise grain, and poured all their efforts to tide over the difficulties with the Red Army...

Follow the footprints of red culture to polish the red business card of Aba

In November 2019, the main creative team of "Yak Revolution" traced the footprints of the Red Army's Long March, crossed the snowy mountains to excavate history, and went deep into the grassland to collect materials, kicking off the prelude to creation. In order to make the yaks on the stage exquisite, the staff went into the herders' homes on snowy days to observe the life habits of the yaks, took photos of the yaks in real time, and designed a lot of yak interaction actions through green screen keying and yak 3D modeling, got up and approached, nodded, shook their heads, and finally presented in a hologram interactive way on the stage.

The play by the famous director Liang Qun as the general director, screenwriting, composition, stage design, lighting design, multimedia design, costume design, sound design, etc. are composed of a team of well-known domestic professors and experts, with a new artistic means, with multi-dimensional difference narrative scenes, equipped with a variety of styles of music to jointly interpret the spatial mood of the Red Army's Long March, for the audience to show a grand theme, sound and photoelectric combination, rich artistic appeal of large-scale original red musical. At the same time, in the three-dimensional time and space light and shadow constructed by the multimedia, the actors' true feelings are revealed, three-dimensional confessions, and live singing... Sponsored by the CPC Aba Prefecture Party Committee and the Aba Prefecture People's Government, organized by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Aba Prefecture CPC Committee and the Aba Prefecture Bureau of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and created and performed by the Aba Prefecture National Song and Dance Troupe, this large-scale original red musical "Yak Revolution" lasted for two years by the main creative team and more than 100 cast members, devoted to it, created with ingenuity, and carefully polished and presented the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

As a high-quality literary and artistic drama dedicated to the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China in Aba Prefecture, "Yak Revolution" was successfully selected into the list of outstanding plays in Sichuan Province to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the main venue of Chengdu. It will also be used as a key literary and artistic masterpiece of Aba Prefecture Patriotism Education and Long March National Cultural Park, polishing the red brand of Aba Prefecture.

"Yak Revolution" cleverly displays patriotic feelings, military and civilian fish and water affection, communist belief and the spirit of the Long March, and interprets the historical event of "Yak Revolution" in a different way, which can be said to be refreshing and the strength brought to people is even more immeasurable. Looking back at the road and interpreting the original intention, "Yak Revolution" praises the precious spirit of the Great Long March and plays the strong sound of the yak revolution.
