New Zealand 'Green List' positions are announced, eligible for immediate residency

The New Zealand government has developed a new "green list" to replace the long-term shortage of skills list to attract and retain skilled workers to fill the skills shortage. The "green list" is shorter, and many (but not all) of the occupations on the chronic shortage skill list are on the green list.

It is a simplified and prioritised pathway to residency that inspires skilled workers in the healthcare, construction, science, ICT and technology sectors to live in New Zealand for long periods of time.

The "Green List" includes 85 difficult-to-fill positions, of which 56 positions have direct access to residency and 29 positions can apply for residency after two years of service.
