Preface
The "Qin Embroidery Art Promotion and Exchange Exhibition" project is a comprehensive display of the contemporary embroidery art formed by Qin embroidery, which originated from the ancient folk embroidery of Shaanxi Province, with Na yarn embroidery as the clue, and takes traditional Chinese Qin embroidery as the core content to integrate Chinese folk traditional culture and fashion culture. The project strengthens cultural self-confidence and inherits traditional Chinese culture. This exhibition is the 2020 National Arts Fund "Communication and Exchange Promotion Project".
The main unit of the project is Xi'an University of Science and Technology, the project leader is Professor Yang Huijun, dean of the School of Arts of Xi'an University of Science and Technology, and the project team is composed of Master Tutor Dong Zhibin, Sun Yingli and graduate students of Xi'an University of Science and Technology.
The exhibits were provided by collectors Xian Jianjun and Cao Xinqiang, and folk arts and crafts artists Wang Jinping, Wang Lili and Wu Dianlian.
On the morning of May 10th, the opening ceremony and seminar of "The Story of Needlework - Qin Embroidery Art Promotion and Exchange Works Exhibition" sponsored by Xi'an University of Science and Technology and co-organized by Shaanxi University of Science and Technology and Shaanxi Folk Writers Association were held in Liangbao Building.

Exhibition site
This exhibition is divided into three sections: "Qin Feng Relics", "Wearing Yarn Andna Embroidery", and "Splendid New Rhyme", and the time span is from the Ming Dynasty, qing Dynasty, Republic of China to contemporary times. Through the presentation of ancient collections to contemporary works, the historical trajectory of the evolution, inheritance and innovation of Qin embroidery art is interpreted. The project team selected the Fine Works of Qin Embroidery from more than 200 pieces of collection. These include Qin embroidered costumes, door curtains, pillow tops, table skirts and so on, which are full of life. The embroidery is displayed in a variety of ways: some are picture frames, some are scrolls, and some are tiled on the stand. These collections have high historical value and academic value, and some of their contemporary works have won the gold medal of the National Arts and Crafts Masters Exhibition, the gold medal of the Chinese Embroidery Art Exhibition, and the Gold Award of the Hundred Flowers of Chinese Arts and Crafts. The works selected in this exhibition are rich in themes and diverse styles, including animals, flowers and birds with auspicious meanings, as well as the unique history and folk art themes of the Three Qins. Through these threads of narrative, it not only shows the creator's colorful artistic style, but also reflects the artistic evolution process of Qin embroidery.
As a "communication and exchange promotion project" of the National Arts Fund, Qin Embroidery's promotion method is mainly based on offline exhibition promotion, supplemented by online promotion. While promoting the exhibition of Qin embroidery art promotion and exchange works offline, it integrates online platform communication, makes full use of network resources, and enhances the public's awareness of Qin embroidery art through short videos, WeChat public accounts, weibo, etc., so that Qin embroidery art can be better inherited and further promote Qin embroidery to achieve a higher level of development.
We are experiencing changes in our lives that have not been seen in a thousand years, and we are also welcoming the prosperity of the revival of excellent traditional culture. This exhibition will lead the audience to feel the unique value and artistic charm of Qin embroidery art from the changes in the historical process, so that Qin embroidery art, craftsmanship spirit and intangible cultural heritage can be better inherited and promote the development of Qin embroidery to a higher level.
A total of 136 works will be exhibited in this exhibition, which will be exhibited from May 5 to May 16.
During the exhibition, strictly implement the system of scanning codes, measuring temperature, wearing masks throughout the process, disinfection, and one-meter line; personnel outside Xi'an must hold a 48-hour negative nucleic acid test certificate; temporarily do not accept personnel with communication itinerary cassettes* and medium- and high-risk areas in China; comply with visiting requirements such as reservations, staggered peaks, and flow restrictions; and regularly carry out sanitize work in the museum to let the audience visit with confidence.
