Xu Yan, 47 years old, a native of Zhongjiang County, Deyang City, fell in love with embroidery under the influence of her grandmother and mother since she was a child, and began to embroider things on fabrics at the age of 8. In addition to learning crafts from the elders in her family, Xu Yan also relied on books to learn on her own, went out to learn art from teachers, and achieved her own pair of embroidery skills. After graduating from university, Xu Yan first entered a construction company as a clerk, gave up her original job after marriage, began to start her own business, and began to open a Shu embroidery store in Mianyang in 2000.
In 2009, by chance, Xu Yan came to Leshan for tourism. She found that many tourism products in the scenic spot did not reflect local characteristics, and her embroidery could be fully integrated with the beauty and culture of Jiazhou to create tourism products with unique local characteristics. So she resolutely decided to open the Shu embroidery workshop to Leshan. In order to open up the market and let everyone know more about Shu embroidery, Xu Yan strives to improve herself while promoting her own works. Exquisite products and their rich and profound cultural connotations have attracted the attention of local governments and various media. At the end of 2013, Xu Yan registered and established Leshan Jiazhou Embroidery Craft Co., Ltd. "Our company's embroidery products are all Shu embroidery stitching method and self-created stitching method, because the embroidered theme is integrated with Leshan elements, so it is named 'Jiazhou embroidery'." Xu Yan said,
"'Jiazhou embroidery' is an important part of Chinese Shu embroidery." Xu Yan introduced that the embroidery is made of silk soft satin and colored silk thread as the material, and its embroidery method is very unique, using hundreds of stitches to embroider, and the embroidery is vivid and vivid, the color is vivid, the texture is strong, and the shape and spirit are both. Embroidery cloth is more squeamish and cannot be washed, so in the process of embroidery, it is required to keep the hands neat and clean, and the hands cannot touch the picture.
Since her development in Leshan, she has held more than 50 theoretical and practical training lectures and trained a batch of outstanding embroidery girls. Embroidery products are constantly updated on the basis of tradition, and more than 20 Shu embroidery difficulties have been overcome successively. At present, the company adopts the production mode of "company + embroidery workshop", which has driven thousands of people, especially women and disabled people at home, to achieve flexible home employment.
In March this year, "Jiazhou Embroidery" was rated as "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Leshan City". Xu Yan will also continue to be committed to inheriting and carrying forward the "Jiazhou embroidery" characteristic crafts and jiazhou traditional culture.
