Under the hands of Irish artist Jan Campbell, many small wood carvings with delicate lines and rich emotions were created, but these exquisite carvings were carved on avocado cores, and the discarded avocado cores were turned into works of art!
Carving avocado cores began in 2014, when she was making avocado sandwiches because she didn't want to throw them away at will, so she began to think about how to deal with them. She discovered that when her fingernails scraped the surface of the core, it produced a beautiful dark orange color, which made her germinate the idea of carving the core, and after trying to carve a "strange little face", she began her career in avocado core carving.
These cores have been transformed by Campbell's skillful hands into various handheld totems and pendants, ranging from dreamy figurines to forest guardians and plants, etc. Although the characters are different, they all have intricate carved details, which are impressive.
