Recently, Bryton released a flagship code meter product - Rider S800 (hereinafter referred to as S800). It has up to 36 hours of battery life, a 3.4-inch color screen, and even speech recognition.

The S800, like the Rider 750 and Rider S500 launched by Brilliannt in January this year, is a top-notch product.

The biggest highlight of this code meter is the 36-hour long battery life, and Pariton said that if the map function is not used, the battery life of this code meter can even be up to 40 hours.

The CEO of Briton said: "We hope that through this product, we can break the inherent cognition of drivers and redefine the top code table in people's minds. ”

The screen of this code table uses a technology called "pixel memory" (MIP) that reduces power consumption and improves battery life by refreshing only the pixels in the screen that need to be changed.

Briton also said that it has optimized the screen performance in the outdoor high-brightness environment, and built-in light-sensitive elements to control the screen backlight brightness in real time, which is much more convenient than the previous state of adjusting the brightness according to the sunrise and sunset, and the power consumption control has also been improved.

The charging interface abandons the original micro USB interface and uses the same USB Type-C interface of the Rider S500, which can theoretically greatly shorten the time required for each charge.

Voice control function

The S800's voice search function is based on Google Voice, so it is more intelligent than the previous voice function. When paired with a paired smartphone, the feature provides you with address and POI (Point of Interest) information with just voice input, effectively avoiding the unsafe factors of using your phone during cycling.

You can also set up team rides with other S800 users, and even send shared links to backup cars or family members to track your riding route in real time. As long as you start recording the ride, open the mobile APP to click the page "+" symbol, which has a Periton Live Track function, after opening it will make a web page, share the link to family, friends or coaches, in addition to being able to instantly know your location information, even riding trajectory, speed, riding time, total journey time and riding distance are clear at a glance.

The wind noise generated during riding will be a test of the voice control function, I don't know how accurate the speech recognition is in actual use, will it be affected by the wind sound?

Navigation and route planning

The S800 has a powerful intelligent navigation system that includes route navigation, re-routing, and the ability to navigate back to the starting point via an OpenStreetMap map.

The code table is preset with a variety of riding modes for road, mountain, indoor cycling, off-road riding, and Gravel. You can choose the riding data you want to see by adjusting the information page for each mode in the code table or The Bryton Active mobile APP.

In addition, there is a status summary that can be displayed during the ride by tapping the screen to see the number of laps or some other riding data.

Compatibility of the riding table and power meter

Bryton says you can connect the S800 to a smart riding table and record your training. In addition, if you have hardware support, the S800 can also display information such as the gear information of the power change and the rear vehicle prompt.

It also supports Cycling Dynamics, which can analyze power data in real time. After pairing compatible power pedals, the Rider S800 can display static and graphical data ,"including sitting/standing posture, power phase (PP), platform center offset (PCO) and right/left balance."

The S800 is available in two sets: S800 E and S800 T.

The S800 E includes: code watch, protective case, foil, code watch holder, lanyard, priced at $399.95, about 2670 yuan.

The S800 T added a speed sensor, a cadence driver and a heart rate band to the S800 E, and the price was increased to $479.95, or about 3200 yuan.

Although both sets provide plastic yard frames, Pariton also launched a metal yard stand for riders with high quality requirements, priced at $12.95, about 86 yuan.
