S1: You're on a crash before the finish line Van de Poul narrowly beat Gilmay

On Friday, May 6, the 105th Tour 105, the first of the three major Tour des Tour des Circuits of the season, officially began.

The opener will kick off in Budapest, Hungary, with a 195-kilometer race, dominated by flat roads, with two sprint points on the way, where drivers will compete for the first time in the pink shirts. The first 5.5 km of the stage will be spent at the summit finish with an average gradient of 4.2% and a maximum gradient of 8% to reach Visegrad, known in the Middle Ages as the "paradise on earth".

The race was decided in an uphill sprint at the finish line, with Van der Poul narrowly beating Gilmay to win the first victory of the 2022 Season, with Black Rider Gilmai from The Vendi Team following him across the line for a second-best finish, with the final podium finish being won by Bahrain Victory Team's Bilbao.

As it was the first stage, the early stage of the race was uneventful except for the long-distance breakout of the two drivers of the Androni team. The main group chased the rabbits unhurriedly, and did not recover the Breakout drivers of the Androni Team until 13.5km before the finish line, and the two drivers also completed the day's breakout task well.

When the race entered the final 5.5 km of climbing, the drivers of the major teams began to be active, and 3.6 km before the finish line, Lawrence Naesen of the AG2R team attacked, but because the personal ability was not too strong, it would not pose a threat to the main car group, so the main car group controlled by the Ineos team let him go.

1 km later, Bora's Lennard K mna broke through and overtook Lawrence, who took the lead 2.1 km before the finish line, but his attack did not pose any threat to the main car group.

When the race reached the final 900 meters, the UAE launched a chase and quickly recovered the breakout driver Kemner, and 150 meters before the finish line, the final battle for the S1 stage began. Caleb Ewan, who had a good chance of finishing in the top three, rubbed on Gilmay's rear wheel due to a car control problem and regretted falling before the finish line. Van der Pur followed Gilmay all the way and delivered a fatal blow at the last minute, narrowly defeating Gilmai to win the stage championship and wearing the pink collar shirt of the tour.

The S2 stage will be the 9.2km individual timed stage, which is not van der Poul's area of expertise, I wonder if he will be able to keep the pink shirt?
