It is said that the "greenfin horsefish" is also distributed in the northern sea, but it is the most difficult fish species for small fishermen to catch.

This fish can often be seen at barbecue stalls in Yantai, Weihai, Qingdao, Dalian and other places that blow beer. Grilled one seems to be about 5 yuan, which is very delicious. The "greenfin horse-faced pufferfish" on the barbecue stall is probably like this in the picture below.

But in fact, the "greenfin horse-faced pufferfish" is like this picture below.

Greenfin horse-faced pufferfish, known as "cattle fish" in the Tangshan area of Qinhuangdao. Yantai, Weihai, Qingdao, and Dalian often call it "cobbler" or "pickpocket wolf". Scientific name: "Greenfin Horse-faced Pufferfish".

Pickpocket wolves are small omnivorous fish, the largest is only about two pounds, not much of a pound, most of them are less than one pound. It has a tiny cherry beak and feeds on sand silkworms, seaweed, shrimp, and organic detritus. Most inhabit the bottom of obstacles or reef areas, and come in groups as soon as they come.

The skinned wolf has a rough skin that feels like sandpaper, and must be peeled off before it can eat the meat. Peeling the skin of the fish is a bit troublesome, I have seen others peel: use a knife to cut a hole under the head of the fish, grab a corner of the fish skin with your fingers, and tear it with force, and you can peel off the whole sheet. Although the pickpocket wolf does not have a big tail, it tastes good, very fresh and sweet, and the price is about 20---30 yuan / catty. In addition, many grilled fish fillets in supermarkets are made with pickpocket wolves.

As for how to catch a pickpocket wolf, it must be admitted that this is the hardest sea fish I have ever seen. Because its mouth is so small, not much bigger than a soybean grain. Eat like a chicken pecking rice. Although the little fisherman randomly mixed with a nickname of "the little prince of the mackerel" among the anglers, the pickpocket wolf never caught a single one. Not one. But I did see others catch pickpockets.

Generally, when anglers use Antarctic shrimp bricks and commodity nest materials to hit heavy nests to catch moray carp, they feel that there is a fish bite, but the rod does not hit the fish. So the angler judged that the pickpocket wolf was coming, so he changed into a small hook and drifted, and only half of the Antarctic shrimp was hung on the hook to start fishing, and the result was indeed caught a pickpocket wolf.

Therefore, regarding the fishing method of pickpocketing wolves, the little fisherman only knows this one. The point is:

First, because the fish's mouth is small, it must be used with a small hook. Use a No. 3 Ishini, or a No. 5-6 Cuff Hook or Maruze. The hook used to catch small crucian carp in freshwater is similar. The bait is done with half an Antarctic shrimp, or a sand silkworm segment of about 2 cm.

Second, the fish must be gathered in a heavy nest before the fish can be caught. Otherwise, fishing in the sea with only half a small shrimp on the hook will not be able to catch Chinese New Year's Eve.

In the northern seas, pickpockets are fished in the fall of September, October, and November. Fishing spots are preferably breakwaters. The fishing depth is about 20---30 cm from the bottom of the sea with a hook.

"Pickpocket wolf" is really difficult to catch, what method do you brothers use to catch "cobbler"? Are there any effective fishing methods and good advice [smile]?
