The perfect home is the sum of many parts such as architecture, furniture, products, landscape, art, etc., which play an important role in making the house thoroughly modern and warm. Curatorial House is one of Melbourne's newest contemporary high-end residential projects, reflecting the value these cultural layers bring to the project, especially the value that art brings to the space.
Designed by local architecture studio Taylor Pressly Architects, Curatorial House's short design is the result of a client's passion and adventurous spirit and the talent of a creative team. Their goal is to loosen the line between art and interior design, and they want to be able to offer their clients a wide range of complete art services.
With clean lines, sharp geometric shapes and calm tones, the house forms a tranquil setting in the tree-lined area of Melbourne's Thurak neighbourhood. Artistry further enhances the space, beautifies the entire space, creates expressive tones and adds color. Sometimes, it adds a playful feel to the complex interiors of the home.
The house now houses a collection of 60 works of art from 27 artists and galleries from 15 cities. The works were deliberately selected by the design team to live in harmony with the building, but still make their presence clear, without bland works blending into the background.
The skeleton of the building, such as strips of glass, high ceilings and three-story voids in the center, are highlighted by carefully selected components in strategic locations. Perfect architectural details, materials and colours create a complete home experience, a home where art and life are synchronized.
