Recently, the staff of Lelongqi Mountain National Nature Reserve found more than 20 unknown orchids when carrying out daily monitoring, and after consulting data and consulting experts, it was determined that it was a high-spotted leaf orchid of the orchid family, which is a new record species distributed in Longqi Mountain Nature Reserve, and the current number of orchids in Longqi Mountain has increased to 34 species.
Goodyera procera, its rhizome is short and thick, with knots; the stem is hairless, with 6-8 leaves; its leaves are not white irregular dot-like markings, but green, pale green on the back, tapering at the base, with petioles, tapering apex, the whole leaf is oblong-shaped; the flowering period of the high-spotted orchid is in April-May, the flower stem is longer, about 12-50 cm, about 5-7 sheath-like bracts; the inflorescence is like a wheat ear, with many dense florets, and the petals are white with pale green , flowers are accompanied by a faint aroma.
It grows all year round on hillsides and in the shade of forests. Anhui, Zhejiang, Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong, Hong Kong, Hainan, Guangxi, western sichuan to the south, Guizhou, Yunnan and southeastern Tibet are the main producers of high-spotted orchid in the mainland; it is also distributed in Assam, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Japan, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia.
