In the final day of the 2022 Asian Badminton Championships, Chinese women's singles rising star Wang Zhiyi defeated world champion Akane Yamaguchi to win the heaviest single title of her career.

In today's dramatic women's singles decider, Wang Zhiyi led the way 17-6, but Akane Yamaguchi pulled back 13 points on the following 15 points to tie the score to 19. Wang Zhiyi regrouped at a crucial moment and won the match 15-21 21-13 21-19.

In the men's singles final, Li Zijia defeated Jonathan. It was also one of Li Zijia's most important moments, as he became the first Malaysian to win the Asian Championships men's singles title after Li Zongwei in 2016. In the previous meeting between the two sides, Jonathan led Li Zijia with a record of four wins and one loss, but in the final, Li Zijia won the game with stronger offensive firepower to win two consecutive sets 21-17 23-21.

In the men's doubles, the Indonesian duo of Riyanto / Jacob defeated the Malaysian duo of Hsieh Ding Feng / Su Weiyi 23-21 21-10, becoming the first Indonesian duo to win the Asian Championships men's doubles title after Quito / Hendra in 2009.

World champions Chen Qingchen / Jia Yifan were not overly oppressed by Japan's Yan Yongling / Nakanishi Takaei, who won in 44 minutes with a score of 21-11 21-15. In the only Chinese derby of the day, Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong defeated Wang Yilu/Huang Dongping after two consecutive defeats, and the two-time world champions won the game with a score of 21-17 21-8, winning the Asian Championship for the first time.
