The 2022 Badminton Asian Championships ended today, with Wang Zhiyi, Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong, Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan winning three gold medals for Guoyu.
The first to unfold was the women's singles final, in which The National Feather "Post-00s" Wang Zhiyi, who qualified for the asian championship final for the first time, took on the top seed of the tournament and Japan's Akane Yamaguchi. In the mixed doubles final, the Chinese duo of Zheng Siwei / Huang Yaqiong defeated another Chinese duo, Wang Yilu / Huang Dongping, 21-8 21-17, 21-8 to win the mixed doubles championship at the 2022 Asian Badminton Championships. This is also the first Asian Championship champion of the "IELTS" group, and the "Yellow Duck" group is the runner-up.
The gold medal in women's doubles was won by Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan, who won the Japanese duo of Iwanaga Suzu/Nakanishi Takaei 21-11, 21-15. The latter had beaten former world number one Yuki Fukushima/Saihana Hirota in the semi-finals, but they failed to upset in the final. At this point, Guoyu ended the Asian Championship with a result of 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze.
