When the Red Army left Zhangzhang, he resolutely left his parents, wives and children and followed the Red Army to the Central Soviet Region. It was not until April 10, 1937, that he wrote his first family letter to his family at the yan'an Chamber of Commerce, expressing his determination to resist the war.
At this time, only three months after Japan launched the "July 7 Incident", the domestic call for the Kuomintang and the Communist Party to cooperate in jointly resisting the Japanese army also reached a climax, so he said in the letter: "So far, my arduous struggle can be done (as) the end of the preliminary stage, but the main war of resistance to save the country is beginning." ”

Shortly after Gao Jiecheng wrote this letter, the all-out War of Resistance broke out, and he accompanied the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army to Hebei to open up anti-Japanese base areas behind enemy lines and engage in financial and economic work.
At the age of 23, he left home to pursue his dreams and joined the revolution.
At the age of 34, he was martyred and buried in a foreign country.
In his 11-year revolutionary career, he traveled from east to west, chased north and south, walked through the Long March, crossed the snowy mountains and meadows, and opened up the financial front of our party under the fire of the enemy's war.

Before Gao Jiecheng left home, he named his son " Desheng " , who was just three months old. In the six years since he left home, although he has not made any contact with his family, his family has always believed that Gao Jebsen will return victoriously. However, after the war was over, the Gao family never waited for Gao Jebsen. It was not until after the founding of New China that Xie Jueya, then minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Central People's Government, came to visit gao Caibao, who was waiting at home for news, that he learned that her husband had died in May 1943, and that he had made great contributions to the financial undertakings of the border areas.
Gao Jiecheng's life was short and glorious, but he used his short life to write the great love of a revolutionary, so that future generations, no matter how far they go, can not forget their original intentions. Today, this "red family letter" with yellowed paper is still cherished by the Gao family, and as the most precious "heirloom" of the Gao family, it inspires future generations to dedicate themselves silently and move forward courageously.
The red family letter contains loyal souls, and the paper is short and long.
