"This is the new X12 engine that we just finished testing, and this engine has been running at full capacity for 15 days, which is equivalent to the truck driver stepping on the accelerator for 15 days, testing the engine with this harshest driving environment." Pan Xiaoyu introduced it to reporters.
In the eyes of colleagues, Pan Xiaoyu's requirements for products are almost strict, but in life he is a humble and gentle person, and because of his experience and kindness, colleagues affectionately call him Lao Pan. In 2000, when Lao Pan was still Xiao Pan, he entered the engine design and manufacturing industry, which was 22 years.
"I studied engine manufacturing in college, and after graduation, I entered an engine factory and turned the engine in the book into a real engine in 8 years, and I was very excited, and I have formed an indissoluble relationship with the engine since then." Pan Xiaoyu said.
Since 2008, Pan Xiaoyu has joined Xi'an Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. with his love for engines and the pursuit of more advanced technology levels, engaged in engine design and research and development. In the process of work, Pan Xiaoyu often discusses and analyzes the problem with the relevant personnel, consults the information, promotes the solution of the problem as soon as possible, and serves the customer wholeheartedly. After transferring to the control position, facing a new position, he actively faced it, learned from experienced AE engineers, Beijing Cummins control team group, etc., and after several years of unremitting efforts, he grew into an engine control expert of Xi'an Cummins.
Pan Xiaoyu during his tenure as a product engineer, responsible for the flywheel shell, flywheel and bearing cost reduction project, he through customer needs identification and communication, careful calculation and analysis, redesigned the weight reduction flywheel shell, flywheel and bearing, to achieve a flywheel shell weight reduction of 14kg, flywheel weight reduction of 15kg. It meets the business needs of Shaanxi Automobile's lightweight vehicles, especially provides the foundation and guarantee for the volume of X3000, and at the same time, realizes the cost reduction of a single engine by 520 yuan, the cumulative installed capacity of 16,000 units, and the cost reduction of 8.32 million yuan.
As a senior application engineer, Pan Xiaoyu was also responsible for the development of the wide-body dump truck project, and completed the successful matching of ISM in OEM models such as Shaanxi Automobile, Tongyun Heavy Industry, and KONE Heavy Industry, so that the failure rate of ISM matched wide-body dump trucks in the mining area was less than 40% of that of competitors; In order to obtain first-hand information, he often spares no effort to collect vehicle data in Xinjiang, Shanxi, Guizhou and other mining areas, his professional ability, customer awareness, market awareness has also been highly recognized by OEMs and end users, making outstanding performance in the mining market field, laying a solid foundation for ISM to enter the wide-body dump truck market, making the ISM engine in the wide-body dump truck segment market share increased from 0% to 13%, matching ISM OEM from 0 to 10, Become an important segment of the company.
When Pan Xiaoyu was a reliability engineer, he undertook the ISM long oil change cycle project (extending the oil change cycle to 100,000 kilometers), which is a project that has never been studied, without any first-hand information, Pan Xiaoyu flipped through the data, consulted with lubrication experts, and worked with oil companies, oil filter companies, etc. to jointly study, set up oil indicators, and establish test specifications. Communicate with customer drivers to understand customer needs. After more than a year, it has completed more than 1 million kilometers of road test and bench test work for 10 vehicles, established an oil change cycle according to different fuel consumption and working conditions, recommended suitable oil applications and oil filters, and reduced the user's maintenance costs by 46%.
In 2015, because of the engine technology of the wide-body dump truck, Pan Xiaoyu won the title of Xi'an Labor Model.
During the interview, Pan Xiaoyu told reporters about a particularly memorable past: "In 2018, ISM matching Shaanxi Automobile special vehicles needed to parade in Tiananmen Square, during the training period, officers and soldiers could not accurately control the throttle of the engine, resulting in the entire queue can not pass neatly according to time, affecting the training efficiency, they are very anxious." After communicating with the officers and men, and personally getting on the car and going through many tests, the problem was found that the problem was due to the different weight of each person's throttle, resulting in the inability to accurately control the engine speed and fluctuate greatly. After discovering the problem, after many rounds of non-stop debugging and testing by many officers and soldiers, the debugging procedure solved the problem of sensitive fluctuations very well, which greatly improved the training time and efficiency, Pan Xiaoyu told reporters.
In the development of China VI products in 2019, Pan Xiaoyu was sent to Cummins R&D Center (Wuhan) to study because of his outstanding work ability, and during the one-year study period, Pan Xiaoyu worked tirelessly to track the bench test and the vehicle test, and grew himself from a country VI product who knew nothing about the national VI products to the first batch of China VI engine control technology experts in Xi'an Cummins. Starting from 2020, the matching work of National VI products on Shaanxi Automobile vehicles has also been carried out continuously, Pan Xiaoyu took the initiative to explain the requirements of National VI regulations with Shaanxi Automobile Electrical Appliances and OBD developers, and together with them, starting from the lowest line of the whole vehicle, layer by layer inspection design, in the product matching development stage, Shaanxi Automobile also put forward the requirements of reducing the fault code according to the matching needs of the whole vehicle and the user's use needs, Pan Xiaoyu and the Cummins development team, together with all the National VI OBD fault codes, re-sorted out all the National VI OBD fault codes. The fault diagnosis logic is optimized, so that the number of faults is reduced from 634 to 455, the frequency of faults is reduced, the OEM requirements are met, and the user praise is obtained.
