In the early morning of April 30, Beijing time, a judge at the SouthWarck Criminal Court announced that former tennis star Boris Becker was sentenced to two and a half years in prison. The reason is that when he filed for bankruptcy in 2017, he withheld millions of pounds of personal property as a way to avoid paying off debts.
Since March 21 this year, Becker has appeared in Court in London. Becker defended himself during the trial, denying all the allegations, and his defense lawyer noted in his statement that Becker himself had placed undue trust and reliance on his advisers in dealing with economic issues.

Becker was a tennis star in the 1980s and 1990s, winning six Grand Slam titles, including three Wimbledon titles, two Australian Open titles and one US Open title. Among them, in 1985, Wimbledon Becker won the title at the age of 17 years and 7 months, creating the youngest title in Wimbledon history. Becker also won the Davis Cup once in his career, and the highest ranking once came to the first place in the world.
