The UFC 277 tournament, which will be held on July 30, will add a high-profile heavyweight showdown, with American star Derek Lewis against Russian rising star Sergei Pavlovich.
Derek Lewis (26-9, 21 K, 1 S, 1 N) is 37 years old and has a height of 191cm with an arm span of 201cm. He began his professional MMA career in 2010, winning the Legacy FC Heavyweight Championship in 2012 and defending the title once in 2013. He joined the UFC in 2014 with a score of (9-2, 1 N) and has achieved a (17-7) result at the UFC so far. Daniel Cormier, who challenged UFC heavyweight champion in 2018, was demoted in the second set, and after losing the second set TKO by Junior dos Santos in March 2019, he played a four-game winning streak, and in August 2021, he was unfortunately defeated by the third set TKO in the battle with Ciryl Gane for the UFC heavyweight interim title. Chris Daukaus, who started the first set in December, was just defeated by Tai Tuivasa's KO in the second set in February. Lewis is currently ranked 5th in the UFC official ranking heavyweight.
Sergei Pavlovich (15-1, 12 K, 0 S) is 29 years old and has a height of 191cm with an arm span of 213cm. He began his professional MMA career in 2014 and won the FNG Heavyweight Championship in 2017 and defended the title once. Joined the UFC in 2018 with a (12-0) result, regrettably lost his first career defeat at the UFC debut by Alistair Overeem's first TKO, and recently won three consecutive wins, all of which were ko-end opponents in the first round, with the first ko Marcelo Golm in April 2019 and the first set TKO Maurice Greene in October, respectively. Just in march this year the first set TKO Shamil Abdurakhimov . Pavlovic is currently ranked 11th in the UFC official rankings in heavyweight.
The tournament also confirmed a high-profile middleweight showdown, with kickboxing champion Alex Pereira (5-1, 4 K, 0 S) against American Toughster Sean Strickland (25-3, 10 K, 4 S).
