In early March, Simpson Marine's Hong Kong office welcomed Asia's first San Lawrenzo SL90A asymmetric yacht. This is a new model of the SanLorenzo asymmetric yachting range, which just debuted at the Cannes Yachting Festival last September.
The exterior and interior of the SL90A were designed by the Zuccon International Project. The studio in Rome, Italy, has applied advanced solutions to SanLorenzo's history-rich and elegant design DNA. The entire asymmetric yacht range has been designed to maximize the use of space inside and outside the yacht, resulting in optimal layout proportions and on-board comfort.

In the main salon, the yacht retains the classic features of the asymmetrical series, allowing a transparent glass staircase to lead to the flybridge deck on the upper level, while the electrically controlled bulwark sliding up and down provides undisturbed sea views inside. The stunning architectural feature is the stairwell that leads to the elevated wheelhouse and maintains ventilation – a design that presents structural challenges for the yacht when the new model is in the design and engineering phases, culminating in a unique innovation in the collection.
The asymmetrical layout allows the owner's suite to be placed in front of the main deck – a solution that is usually only visible on larger yachts – just a few steps down to the wardrobe, followed by the bathroom at the bow. The master cabin also has direct access to the bow lounge area in front, which can be used as a private owner deck area.
Martina Zuccon-led interior designs are based on neutral tones and bronze steel, showcasing San Lorenzo's signature understated and elegant. Free-standing furniture comes from well-known Italian designer brands such as Dordon and Paola Lenti. All furniture on the flybridge deck is also individual and customized according to the requirements of the owner. The lower deck cabin consists of two double cabins with bathrooms and a VIP suite. The SL90A features San Lorenzo's unique "one-way" glass, which matches the white hull colour from the outside to provide an aesthetically continuous feel.
The arrival of the new SL90A has once again strengthened the San Lawenzo vessels in Asia, adding another member of the asymmetric yacht family: the SL102A and SL96A already sail in this beautiful sea.
