On April 27, Huawei held the 19th Huawei Global Analyst Conference, and the summit "F5G Continuous Evolution to Promote the Prosperity of the Fixed Network Industry" organized by Informa Tech was successfully held, and Wang Tao, Managing Director of Huawei and Director of the ICT Infrastructure Business Management Committee, delivered a keynote speech entitled "TowardS F5.5G, Working Together to Promote Industrial Development". Wang Tao pointed out that for 2025, in order to meet the needs of home scenarios, commercial scenarios, and industrial scenarios in terms of bandwidth, latency, and access density, the industry needs to work together to promote the continuous evolution of F5G.

Wang Tao believes that F5.5G has four major advantages over F5G: First, the introduction of next-generation technologies such as Wi-Fi 7, 50G PON, and 800G, the home access bandwidth is increased from 1Gbps to 10Gbps everywhere; the network capability is increased from the telecom level to the industrial level, and the network availability is increased from 99.99% to 99.9999%; third, from optical communication to light perception, and vibration, stress and temperature perception are realized through the optical fiber scattering effect, and the accuracy reaches the meter level Fourth, the low energy consumption characteristics of optical technology are used to increase the energy efficiency of the network by 10 times.
Huawei put forward the F5.5G development direction proposal, and proposed that the industry can reach a consensus on the F5G evolution direction as soon as possible and jointly define the F5G evolution direction. At the same time, Huawei will work with the industry to incubate more application scenarios, accelerate the digital transformation of the industry, and define specific technological development routes in the future within the framework of ETSI, ITU and other standards.
