The magnificent Liuguang River, which combines the dangers of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River and the beauty of the Li River in Guilin, flows from the edge of the village to the east day and night. Looking back at the ancient ferry, it can pass through Liuguang on the upper side, the Wu River on the lower Nengda River, and the Jinsha through Qianxi, which is convenient for boats to dock and convenient for fishermen to travel. Ancient Datun, the terrain is special, the slope is steep and rocky; since the Ming Dynasty, the industrious Buyi people began to build ancient roads, only two feet wide, and the narrow place is only more than one foot, that is, the "sheep intestine trail". The hand-pickpocked rock boardwalk is the most dangerous, the knife-like cliff, up to 100 meters high; in the early years, in order to communicate with the outside world, Buyixian used iron hammers and hammers to drill holes in the rock wall, and when he went up, he had to climb with his hands and pedal with his feet.
In 2005, with the help of the government at a higher level, the people of Datun united and self-reliant, worked hard, the whole village gathered funds and invested in labor, men, women and children went into battle together, in just one month, built 5 kilometers of roads into the village; in 2008, the mud and sand road was paved into a cement road, thus lifting the village's traffic congestion dilemma and ending the history of "people carrying horses".
The road is repaired and the transportation is convenient. Nowadays, the people of Datun give full play to the advantages of low-heat river valleys, plant early-ripening vegetables such as cucumbers and beans, plant special fruits such as citrus and crispy plums, and develop tourism at the same time.

Datun topography, steep mountain slopes, mountain basin, limited area. In modern times, the slope of the arable land, every drought, grain harvest failure. A few miles away, the mountain rock is half waist, and the water of the dark cave spring flows in vain. Wisdom villagers, after several explorations, repeated practice, skillful use of the bottleneck principle, successfully led the underground undercurrent to the ground. Split the mountains and build canals, lead out the clear springs, and irrigate the fields for the benefit of future generations. Two channels of water, become a legend!
In the mid-1960s, the "Agricultural Dazhai" campaign was launched, and the people of Datun carried forward the spirit of perseverance and hard struggle, men, women, and children went into battle together, and every day "the work was not bright, and they went home to the moon", fighting the cold, fighting the heat, and building more than 100 acres of land behind their backs. After 1980, the land was contracted to households, the enthusiasm of the peasants was mobilized, and all the conditions for the slope wasteland were painstakingly worked hard and changed the soil into a field. In a few winters and springs, the whole village has changed the soil to create more than 100 acres of land; the mountain basins that used to have more soil and less fields have become drought and floods to ensure high yields.
Since then, the masses of Datun have adhered to innovative development, vigorously engaged in scientific planting, introduced hybrid rice and hybrid grain for large-scale planting, greatly increased grain production, and most people lived a worry-free and food-free life.
Education-oriented
Datun Buyi Village, with deep cultural heritage, during the Republic of China period, there was a private school. Culture is the soul, culture is the root; education is the foundation, passed down to this day.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, all levels attached importance to it; respecting teachers and re-teaching has become a common practice. Buyi Cottage, first built a primary school, then opened a junior high school, to cultivate talents. Every household attaches great importance to the education of its children, sells livestock and grain, and does not hesitate to provide for its children to study even if they sell their real estate.
Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, especially after the restoration of the college entrance examination system in 1977, this Buyi village with only a few hundred people has been admitted to colleges and universities with more than 200 children, which is a miracle in Xiuwen and even the natural villages in the province! Xinxin students, through study, successfully entered the workplace; many have become the backbone of the unit, there is no shortage of people in leadership positions, there are also engaged in scientific research and business, is making positive contributions to society; the People of Datun who have gone out are still paying attention to the development of their hometown.
