Since the implementation of immunization in 1978, Quanzhou City has not had polio wild strain infection cases for 27 consecutive years, so that thousands of children have avoided physical disability, no cases of diphtheria have occurred for 18 consecutive years, the carrying rate of hepatitis B surface antigen in children under 15 years has dropped from more than 10% in 1992 (the year in which the hepatitis B vaccine is included in the management year of the immunization program), and only single-digit cases or even zero incidence of Japanese encephalitis and hemorrhage with more serious sequelae occur every year. Measles has been zero cases for two consecutive years, and the immunization programme has achieved remarkable results.
Recently, due to the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, most of the routine immunization clinics in our city have suspended vaccination, and many babies have postponed vaccination time.
