Join hands with Tsinghua SDG Research Institute to develop a new model of sustainable development

Sustainability has always been in the DNA of pernod Ricard. With a shared dream of green development, Pernod Ricard (China) has established a close and in-depth partnership with Tsinghua SDG Research Institute to promote China's promotion and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. In 2019, the two sides jointly launched China's first "Sustainable Bar Initiative and Operation Guide" to lead the sustainable operation of the industry; in 2020, the two sides jointly hosted a forum related to sustainable development and jointly released an environmental protection publicity film to attract more consumers' attention and actions on environmental protection public welfare; in the same year, Pernod Ricard (China) supported the Sustainable Development Scholarship of the School of Public Administration of Tsinghua University to help cultivate talents in the field of sustainability.

At the same time, pernod Ricard (China) exclusively named the China Competition and provided support to the winning teams for program development, and combined with the sustainable development strategy and priorities of Pernod Ricard Group, the competition set up a "Pernod Ricard Special Award" to encourage young students to pay attention to issues such as natural resource conservation and renewable resource recovery.

This event is a collaborative innovation between Tsinghua SDG Research Institute and Pernod Ricard (China) in education for sustainable development. It not only provides a valuable opportunity for sustainable youth to realize their ideas, but also more effectively promotes cross-border exchanges in the field of sustainable development. In the future, the two sides will continue to deepen exchanges and mutual learning to jointly promote the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals.

For more than 30 years, Pernod Ricard has been actively responding to the call of the United Nations and adhering to sustainable development. In 2019, Pernod Ricard once again upgraded its CSR strategy and launched the 2030 CSR Action Plan, putting into action and leading change in the four core areas of nourishing the terroir, putting people first, recycling and rational gathering.

As a pioneer in promoting "rational drinking", Pernod Ricard pays close attention to the two major issues of not driving after drinking and not drinking alcohol for non-adults, and unites all sectors of society to implement the concept of "rational gathering". From a "people-oriented" perspective, Pernod Ricard Group strives for the "Future Bar World" and in 2019 set up its world's first retail flagship store, Dreams & Co Drink Wonderland, in Shanghai to create a sustainable bar format. With regard to the environment, Pernod Ricard strives to "nourish the terroir" and adhere to "recycling". The Group's famous Cognac brand Martell officially launched the Mangrove Ecosystem Protection Project last year. In terms of sustainable production and operation, Pernod Ricard Helan Hill Distillery has launched a number of water- and electricity-saving initiatives, and Pernod Ricard Diechuan Malt Whisky Distillery is committed to carbon neutrality in a multi-pronged manner, such as the extensive use of recycled and local materials in the design and construction process to protect local terroir, and the use of 100% renewable electricity in production. This is Pernod Ricard's successful interpretation and commitment to the 2030 CSR Action Plan.
