Live Bar April 24 NBA officially announced today that Raptors No. 4 Coach Scotty Barnes won the 2021-22 NBA Rookie of the Year.
During the Raptors' team training, Vince Carter connected Scotty Barnes via video to announce his award.
Carter said in the video: "Barnes, how's it going lately, I'm Vince Carter, and I know you're busy playing in the playoffs with the team right now. I've enjoyed watching you perform this season, and it reminds me of my rookie season, when I won Rookie of the Year, and it's a really good memory. I want to tell you that there are three people in Raptors history who have won the Rookie of the Year award: Damon Stoudemire, me, and you. Congratulations and look forward to your continued success in the NBA. ”
Barnes has played in 74 games for the Raptors this season, averaging 15.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.7 blocks in 35.4 minutes per game, shooting 49.2 percent from the field.
