Opening a good book is like opening a whole new world, and it is those who build a new world and open the door of wisdom who write the book.
On April 23, 2022, on the occasion of the 27th World Book Day, the Volunteer Service Association of the National Museum of China met with the audience and held a theme publicity activity in the exhibition hall of "Why Become a Book, The National Expo Takes You Closer to Historical and Cultural Celebrities".
In the exhibition hall of the National Museum's "Ancient China" and "Road to Rejuvenation" basic exhibitions, volunteer docents tell the classics of those years and the stories of those who wrote books, leading the audience to relive the millennium classics, dialogue with cultural celebrities, and jointly feel the cultural pulse of the Chinese nation.
This is the second book day held by the association, and it still receives positive response and enthusiastic support from volunteer docents. After the release of the plan, more than 50 volunteers enthusiastically submitted articles, and more than 40 volunteers signed up to preach. After the association selected 21 manuscripts suitable for preaching according to the theme, the volunteers made full preparations for the relay lecture in the exhibition hall. In the exhibition hall, they can be seen repeatedly trying to speak and rehearse, and in the hours before the official start of the event, the volunteers also conducted a comprehensive and careful rehearsal.
These carefully rehearsed figures are not very "cute"!

Do you know why the Spring and Autumn Period in the history of the mainland got its name? Why does the "Spring and Autumn" of the History of the State of Lu make the books of interpretation endless throughout the ages? Why did Zuo Qiuming's "Biography of Zuo Shi in the Spring and Autumn Period" become the first complete chronicle on the mainland?
The story of the Tang monks taking the scriptures in "Journey to the West" is already well known, but how many people can still remember the story of the senior monk Faxian and the "Book of the Buddha Kingdom" that predate Xuanzang's journey to the west to seek the Fa more than 200 years ago?
Forty-five-year-old Bai Juyi wept in a green shirt, and twenty-two-year-old Xin abandoned his illness to lead the army to kill the enemy. When we re-read the Quan Tang Poems and the Long and Short Sentences of Jiaxuan, we unconsciously stepped on the rhymes of the Tang poems and Song Poems, and felt the light and shadow of that era and the pure heart of the literati.
Lin Zexu and others wrote "Humen Cigarette Sales Finished Folding", which restored a real Humen cigarette sales for us. On top of the fold, the Daoguang Emperor Zhu Ping: "It can be called a great pleasure to people's hearts, I know", which is joyful, jumping on the paper!
This concise manuscript of the paper, which is neatly written and full of traditional calligraphic beauty, turned out to be Mr. Chen Jingrun, a famous mathematician on the mainland, which proved to be known as the "pearl" of mathematics that is unattainable in the crown of mathematics - the research manuscript of the Goldbach conjecture.
Taking "spending a day is equivalent to wasting 24 hours" as his life motto, he consumed a few sacks of scratch paper in a small room of 6 square meters of tube building, just to overcome the problem of Goldbach's conjecture of "1+2".
The time to get together is always beautiful and short, and the volunteer docent accompanies the audience across the millennium, reads Chinese classics together, and communicates spiritually with historical celebrities who have left wonderful records in the vast classics, and also feels happy in the activities, enjoying and cherishing them.
How did it come into writing? The book is long, the footsteps do not stop, the next volunteer activity let us continue to meet, not to see and not to disperse!
